Rhian: You've never dated anyone. Do you even have a type?
Rafal: Of course I have a type. An archetype.
Rhian: That's not—
Rafal: The magus, the archmage, the black magician, the ruler, the trickster, the magnificent bastard, the king of spades...
Rhian: [rolls his eyes]
(SPOILERS for the FIRST DRAGON) The Poesibilities....that I can remember...
What is confirmed and known. Cain, Archimago (Edmund Spenser’s the Faerie Queen), Prospero (Shakespeare’s the Tempest), Edgar Allan Poe. Possibilities. Drosselmeyer (E.T.A Hoffman’s The Nutcracker and the Mouse King). I at one point thought Plato...but having read more about him...definitely not. Definitely still think he could be Virgil. If only because of the amusement of new Caretaker Dante getting lost in the Underneath and Virgil (Poe) deciding to be of some assistance. At least part of the way. Michael Scott. Some cool Advisor guy who was said to be a magician. Possibly Aeolus? The dude with the Bag of Winds in the Odyssey (mostly due to him being Prospero...Weather and stuff). Zoroaster? Maybe not...someone like that. Some notable Alchemist (other than Nicolas Flamel). The Original Orpheus? I forget what was said about Orpheus in SftRD. Other Mystics, Wizards, maybe a Saint at some point? One of the Three Magi (I don’t know which. But one of them). Timur (Tamerlane)? People known for building Cities ( A Solomonar ( Wizards from Romanian Folklore who rode Dragons and Controlled the Weather) Solomon? Probably not? Weary of that...I mean known for Binding Demons and stuff right? ...so...maybe? Notable Necromancers?( again going to a line from Prospero in the Tempest. Opening Graves and commanding the occupants and stuff). If any fellow Scowlers and Cottagers know of any other Poesibilities feel free to share. I’m sure your guys’ ideas are far better than mine. Make of this what you will. Al, the Chronographing Cottager.

Pondering the resulting crop (for lack of a better term) of different Dragons’ Teeth.
Here’s a thought that’s been stuck in my head for the past couple hours that I thought ‘might as well share this’. So I’ve got this story thing I’m working on. One of those things involving a secret organization and the like that deals with The Supernatural, Paranormal, all that good fun sometimes really spooky stuff. An individual who is not quite a part of this Organization but it somewhat of a benefactor, influence, teacher, for it deals with Magical Items. Your Magic rings, invisibility cloaks, things that are meant to do other things...basically deals with just about anything save making weapons (other Fellows of his prefer to handle weapons). But anyway I’m getting off track...it occurred to me today that this guy, who deals a fair deal with Dragons and the like, probably has a good deal of Dragons Teeth. Remembering the thing of Greek Mythology that Dragons Teeth when planted and stuff gets you an army of soldiers...neat. I was curious about the specifics (I recall Medea was involved and it had to with that whole getting the Golden Fleece bit)...but anyway...looking into it (at least On Wikipedia so do correct if I’m super wrong about this) the Dragon whose teeth were planted was apparently sacred to Ares. So I wondered..did the Dragon’s Teeth become soldiers because the Dragon was sacred to the God of War? If the Dragon were sacred to some other god goddess , Greek or otherwise...what would grow from that? Something curious to ponder in any case. Make of this what you will.
