Top 5 discourse words that TVL - Technical Drafting Students Commonly Use.
I am currently studying in the TVL track under the strand Technical Drafting.
And to spread knowledge, I will be giving out information about the top 5 most commonly used words in TVL- Technical Drafting course,. Who knows.you might use or encounter this in the future if you are an aspiring Architect or Engineer of our industry.
For me this is the most used word in our course. Especially if you’re a grade 11 student. A T-square is a technical drawing instrument used by draftsmen primarily as a guide for drawing horizontal lines on a drafting table. It may also guide a set square to draw vertical or diagonal lines. ( United States War Department (1940). Topographic Drafting. U..S. Government Printing Office. pp. 27–28.)
Dimensions are very important. Based on Meriam it is a measurement of something in a particular direction, esp. its height, length, or width.
It is commonly used when we are making floor plans. Dimensions are always present. For they are one of the essentials in creasing a design and they must be accurate because they provide the measurements of the rooms and walls.
Computer-aided design (CAD) is the use of computer systems (or workstations) to aid in the creation, modification, analysis, or optimization of a design.[1] CAD software is used to increase the productivity of the designer, improve the quality of design, improve communications through documentation, and to create a database for manufacturing.( Narayan, K. Lalit, 2008).
CAD output is often in the form of electronic files for print, machining, or other manufacturing operations. The term CADD (for Computer Aided Design and Drafting) is also used. ( Duggal, Vijay (2000) )
In architecture and building engineering, a floor plan is a drawing to scale, showing a view from above, of the relationships between rooms, spaces, traffic patterns, and other physical features at one level of a structure.
Dimensions are usually drawn between the walls to specify room sizes and wall lengths. Floor plans may also include details of fixtures like sinks, water heaters, furnaces, etc. Floor plans may include notes for construction to specify finishes, construction methods, or symbols for electrical items.

An elevation is a view of a 3-dimensional object from the position of a vertical plane beside an object. In other words, an elevation is a side-view as viewed from the front, back, left or right (and referred to as a front elevation, [left/ right] side elevation, and a rear elevation).
To simplify, elevation is the right, left, front, rear view of the floorplan, or any design.
That’s all. I hope you learned something. I will be posting a video related to it, but I will choose only three words to discuss it deeper, for you to understand it further.
