Actually, on the subject of Archivist Shit, could everyone who uses PowerPoint/google slides/any digital presentation medium do me a favor and please put your name on the first or last slide of your presentations? It saves so much time if we can go through a slideshow file or watch a video of you giving a talk and know who you are right away. Otherwise, we gotta do a whole lot of legwork to figure it out, and it’s a timesuck. So, put your name on your homework like it’s 5th grade, please 🙏 save an archivist, slap your name on stuff without adhesive please

because im a ✨️psycho✨️ and ran out of HPCC content to archive I now have every single HP game that was released on a retro console & have put it in an archive so you can emulate it on your phone/computer/etc device.

Obviously you can just go to Vim/whichever safe place you prefer to get ur ROMS, but now I've saved everyone time by putting it all into one browseable archive. PM for access💖

Platforms chosen were based on my experience with "ease of use" emulation. I didn't choose the Xbox versions/PS2 versions because one needs to have moderate experience with emulation to get those running. I chose the most accesible ports for novice emulator fans, and ones easiest to play via smartphone.

(if you're literally *brand new* to emulation, I promise it's just apps (or one singular app if you choose RetroArch) and a quick configuration. But just to understand certain points, I suggest reading a forum or watching a 5 minute video first)

When you’re processing a 112 page photo album of families from the 1910s that you have to identify and all you have is loose handwritten labels to work with but you finally manage to find the connection between two (2) surnames (out of like 20) in the album

My first thought when Jyn and Cassian were trying to search the plans were: why aren't there controlled vocabularies or a searchable index for your files, Empire?!? And then after trigger-happy Tarkin destroyed the archive? Really hoping there's backup data on different planets scattered throughout the galaxy because if not...gonna side-eye the Empire's information professionals for not adhering to the Star Wars version of NDSA Levels of Preservation and LOCKSS (lots of copies keep stuff safe).
