i read @drdemonprince 's article about interacting with minors online and i am deciding to take "minors do not follow" out of my pinned posts. ive honestly been thinking about doing so for a while, with the idea of "i don't want to be the horrible adult who influences young people to do bad shit," but like. i can just do that by being a good person. i think more people need to be educated on sex and it's kinda fucked that during the point in most people's lives where they are starting to think more about sex and sexual attraction, a lot of us have decided "well you're not gonna learn about it from us!" so it's a little like. well where will they learn about it then. and young people need to have that ability to explore these topics so that they CAN go into sexual activity more aware.
in my friend's discord server, most of us are adults, but there's a couple 16-17 year olds and i started talking a lot to one of these sixteen year olds in group calls and over dms. i still had mdni in my bio so i didnt let them follow me but i knew they could see my tweets, and while i tried my damnedest to curb my language i really am a potty mouth with just like... constantly making sex jokes and talking about horny things all the time. and i KNEW it was a little silly to censor myself because i knew they understood the joke i was making or if they didn't it wouldn't really matter, but in my head i was thinking like "i dont want to fuck up a child's life by being raunchy around them." but i wouldn't have and i didn't and i'd like to think i've had a good influence on them for the past couple years when they'd come to me for advice occasionally. theyre eighteen now i consider them a dear friend and a part of me regrets having mdni in my bio cuz like i could have made friends with them much sooner.
anyway im just rambling now point is its a good article go read it
