"And why not?"
@ardxre
“This is why you need to be firm in turning men down. They are relentless beasts who must be put in their place. If you give them the slightest bit of leeway, they will take advantage of that. ”
We come to it at last… The great battle of our time.

"White and tender, surround the center! Cozy, sitting in the crackling shell~!"

花 — Jin has never liked chaos but he doesn’t hate the sight thatgreets him upon entering his home. He doesn’t hate the smell of slightly burntcurry or the flurry of toys scattered upon the wooden floorboards. Jin dislikesloud noises but he doesn’t hate the trills and giggles of children that hehears from the other room. Lips curve into a small smile as he picks up the Legospieces and Ultraman figurines on his way to the kitchen.
His suit jacket slips off of his shoulders and lays neatly on theback of the couch. He recalls the feeling of happiness as he flows into him as smallbodies crash against him in rambunctious glee.
“Welcome home, Father.” Magenta gaze flicks to the young teenstanding next to her at the counter.
“Thank you, Shigeo. Kohaku, Mamoru.” He leans down to embrace theother two before lifting them up with him.
Jin is thankful for all the boxes he lifts at work because holdingtwo toddlers weighs just as much. And Jin wonders if he’s falling in love againwhen she turns to him, face caked in splotches of flour and whatever else thatblack stain is. Her smile still lights up the room and warms him better thanany sunlight ever could. She leaves him breathless time after time and he wouldnever trade the feeling away for anything else.
Soft lips press against his cheek as she leans up to greet him. “Welcomehome, Jin-san.”
He returns the gesture with just as much affection. Akako is thepicture of beauty despite the strands of hair that stick out of place.
“Akako.” Her name drips with loving affection he usually isn’t known for.
He wouldn’t have her any other way.
She takes their second son, leaving him a free hand to gentlypress against her stomach. “I am home, Yukito.”
He wouldn’t trade his family for the world.
—————————————Good End
message received from @ardxre: Puppy eyes at Jin to go get a parfait and buy another stuffed animal for the collection.
There's a burning sensation of sorts drilling into the side of his face. It's impossible to ignore, like a proverbial 'elephant in the room'. Except, this isn't an elephant—quite the contrary, the creature burning a hole into his temple is quite smaller. And in Jin's humble opinion, much cuter than said animal.
Still, he has to plan the the upcoming expeditions and work out the kinks in the supply consumption with Horikawa Kunihiro later. So he tries to ignore the prominent stare—despite the fact that it is quite so very distracting and very bright. Jin sees her intensify her silent plea upon noticing his quick glance in her direction.
So much for being subtle.
Finally, he turns towards his partner, much to his own chagrin. He lost yet again. Always—it's only to her that he is willing to concede. Akako brightens up even more, the grin he adores widening. Jin feels his shoulders lax as fond exasperation colors his expression. A sigh slips and eyes close briefly.
"Alright," he says, giving up and placing his tablet down. "Shall we take a break then, Sayomi?"
Ah, he can see her imaginary ears perk as she stands, nodding—eager and joyous.
"We will make a quick trip." Jin stands, lifting his suit jacket and shrugging it on. Slender finger glide across the screen of his mobile device with a hum. "The weather is quite chilly today. Go grab your jacket."

The sea breeze kisses their cheeks as the island of Inazuma drifts further away. Jin tries not to look back at the docks where he knows Mikazuki still stands watching, but his desires get the best of him. It’s instant regret when he sees the azure and gold glistening in the distance.
They’re leaving a part of themselves behind.
Jin doesn’t flinch at the hand that rests upon his shoulder. Akako’s warm grip is a sense of surety and grounds him to their current situation. Reminds him that they have no time for regrets or what-ifs. They needed to focus on their action plan once they dock in Liyue.
“You would have also punched him.” His gaze leaves the sight of their homeland and trails to her. Not that she didn’t before they left. He’s sure that if Mikazuki were anyone else, the man would have doubled over.
His expression softens though. A small breath of a chuckle makes its way past his lips. A slight quirk and upturn. “If we had more time, I think you would have knocked him out and dragged him on board.”
