whoa. In the UK you can buy dreamcatchers in shops, most little stalls in markets or shops that sell bath bombs all sell them. I have two in my room, one is rainbow coloured feathers and the other is a wind charm. Its scary that they are illegal to buy in shops in the US unless its by a Native :O Americans would scream in horror if the came to the UK x
Well, it’s kinda like how in certain states it’s illegal to pee while looking up on a Sunday, illegal but a lot of people do it anyways.
It’s mainly because, like the anon said, Dreamcatchers originate from Native American Tribes. I’m not exactly sure which ones, but there’s at least a few that have them, and at least a few that don’t.
I forget the actual law, but it’s to protect and help Native Craftsman. If you get a Dreamcatcher made by someone who’s Native, it’ll probably be around 30 - 50 dollars or pounds, there’s a little bit of difference in the exchange between the two currencies, but not much. That’s a lot, but the people put a lot of work and time into it and it’s special to them. You can get a similar looking Dreamcatcher that was mass produced for 10 - 20 dollars or pounds. It’s a Native thing, but people from other cultures and of other races try to make knock offs, stealing money from Natives that can probably use it more than they can, but that’s a whole other thing about Native Discrimination and the wage gap - which is bigger between races than between sexes, by the way.
I’m not sure how Native American’s are treated in the UK or the demographics, but I’m guessing that there’s at least some of them and some discrimination. A lot of people say that America has always and will always give Native Americans the short end of the stick and screw them over every chance they get, but sometimes it does good, or at least tries to. Not that that excuses the countless despicable things America has done, but it’s a step in the right direction.
Grrrr my wife is pissing me off. I’ve been begging her to call my car company and ask for information from them because I only have a 30 minute lunch and there’s no way in hell I’m getting to a person and helped in that amount of time. She keeps being like “nooooo” I can’t impersonate you. Bro we’re both ladies I just need you to ask some questions and tbh you’re the best person to ask these questions. Also she keeps asking me to bug them about something which I already know the answer to because I asked and they said no. Now she finally acquiesces and wants to throw a fit. And she’s like let’s just sell it here and buy another in a way more expensive place under duress. Like she doesn’t know she’s the worst person under pressure.
