Rez Natives deserve basic amenities
Rez Natives deserve basic amenities
Rez Natives deserve basic amenities
REZ NATIVES DESERVE BASIC AMENITIES
REZ
NATIVES
DESERVE
BASIC
AMENITIES
and they honestly deserve it WITHOUT having to relocate themselves, their family, and their WHOLE community.Â
Or neglecting part of their identity or culture
Or being judged for taking money or resources they are already owed.
from a friend in northern ontario. $43 for shitty mass produced muffins that cost $6 down south/in the city
here, have some wilted asparagus at the cheapest low quality grocery story
THIS is why i get so angry when non-natives say, âjust go to the grocery store! you donât need to hunt such and such animal bc of _______ bullshit reason!â Like NO. itâs not as simple as that. going to the store ? this is what you see ^^^^ please educate yourself. I am so very tired of the ignorance and assumptions that all people in america have the same basic amenities. Also stop ridiculing NDN people who hunt their traditional way on THEIR traditional hunting grounds. whatever the âproblematicâ animal may be. Those animals were put here by the creator FOR indigenous peoples, to live belong side us in harmony and good health, and to feed the people when the time comes. ALL ndn people of the âamericasâ are hunter/fathered people traditionally. respect our ways of life or GTFO.

I feel like this article is relevant here, especially with that last comment:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4787000/Alaskan-boy-bullied-social-media-whale-killing.html
Be aware that price-gouging is enourmously prevalent in Alaskan Native villages too, so here comes this young adult who goes out and kills a whale the traditional way, all to feed his village!!! ONE SINGLE WHALE.
Which by the way isnât even endangered.
And you know what the animal rightsâ activists do?
They sent him death threats.
All over a fucking NON-ENDANGERED whale.
This man is a hero in his village, he fed everyone there for days. Below-working class Alsaskan Natives who otherwise wouldâve had to travel hours to get to the nearest grocery store.
Entitled vegans always say âwell why donât you just go to the store and buy fresh produce?â
Because there arenât stores where Rez Natives live.
And if youâre lucky, youâll find shit like the images above, you wanna pay $30 CA for some fucking asparagus???
Unless youâve seen the Rez life and how shit is, then you need to shut the fuck up and keep your entitled shit to yourself.
tolkien: all the war and death in lotr has nothing to do with the war i was in
tolkien: just like how all the morals/good vs evil/everything my characters believe have nothing to do with my morals/beliefs/religion
tolkien: and that character that comes back from the dead has nothing to do with my religion which is based on someone coming back from the dead and uses coming back from the dead as metaphor literally constantly so donât get any ideas
tolkien: and none of those giant evil spiders have anything to do with the tarantula that bit me either
clive staples: jirt youre literally so stupid

tolkien: that really slow grumpy tree who takes forever to get to the point or make up his mind is definitely you though
meanwhile, clive staples: Every Single Thing In This Book Including The Talking Lion Is From My Actual Life
Iâm sorry but seeing y'all call CS Lewis âClive Staplesâ is weirder than any of the magic or furry Jesus in either series
a LOT of my profs are big into Inklings scholarship and i live in constant fear that iâm going to accidentally call him âclive staplesâ (or worse âjonald ronaldâ) in class
There once was a man named Clive Staples Lewis and he almost deserved it.

hillary clinton told a joke at the al smith dinner tonight. itâs a very simple joke. and these two CNN panelists have completely misunderstood it at every turn. it is making me so god damn angry.
the gist of the joke is âwhen i look at the statue of liberty, i see all the things that make our country great [blah blah blah.] when donald trump looks at the statue of liberty he sees a 4. maybe a 5 if she loses the torch and the tablet.â
and this fucking moron is saying that the joke is funny because the statue of liberty looks like the number 4.
which is not what that joke is saying at ALL.
her follow-up to this joke was:
âyou know what i think a good number for a woman is? forty fiveâ
(because if sheâs elected, she will be the forty fifth president)
and this dipshit on CNN is chuckling like âyeah, i think forty five is a good age tooâ
When sexists donât understand theyâre the butt of the joke because theyâve never heard a joke at their expense imo
that first joke is hilarious who is her speech writer
âdo you have a type?â
uh yeah, women Iâm slightly afraid of
#my type is basically women Iâm slightly afraid of #and men I can be 100% sure I will never ever ever have to be afraid of (via @crazy-pages)

Right because your racist a** knows everything about this entire situation cuz you are in her effing back pocket.
Sit your hating a** down and do your makeup. Letâs dig up your skeletons cuz Iâm sure you got a lot of em, honey.

Secret doors with elaborate trigger mechanisms only really make sense post-electricity, and more particularly post-wireless-communication. Like, yeah, having to play a little tune on a piano to unlock a sliding panel behind a bookcase is cool and all, but the fact that thereâs a complicated clockwork linkage attached to your piano is a little more obvious than a good old-fashioned trapdoor under a rug. The mechanism itself would give the game away; somebody searching the room for anything amiss is going to notice that your marble bust of Shakespeare appears to be securely bolted to its table a lot faster than theyâre going to notice an air pressure gradient!
What if thereâs no mechanical device inside the piano, you just pay someone to sit in a booth all day and pop the door mechanism if they hear the right piece?
Then you donât have a secret door, you just have a passive-aggressive concierge.
You play the song and you hear a sneering voice from behind the bookcase, âThat should have been an A flat in the third measure. Not gonna open it until you get it right.â
You correct your error and they still refuse to open the door because you may have gotten all the notes right, but what about the spirit? Mere rote performance isnât going to cut it here; you have to feel the music in your soul.
Tbh this sounds like the funniest story of a low level minion or something and Iâd like to read this.

The judge said he was satisfied A.B. understood the benefits and risks of treatment and that postponing it further could result in A.B. trying to harm himself again
A 14-year-old transgender boy has the capacity to consent to his own medical treatments and should be allowed to proceed with hormone injections to help transition from a female to a male body without delay, a B.C. Supreme Court judge has ruled.
The teenager, who can be identified only as âA.B.,â has been at the centre of a complicated legal fight that raised questions about parental rights and child autonomy. His parents are separated and have joint custody.
While the boy and his mother were prepared to begin testosterone injections last summer, his father objected, citing the need for more time to examine the implications of such a move.
But in a written decision released Wednesday, B.C. Supreme Court Justice Gregory Bowden said he was satisfied A.B. understood the benefits and risks of treatment and that postponing treatment further could result in A.B. â who had previously attempted suicide â trying to harm himself again.
âThe totality of the evidence regarding A.B.âs medical needs ⌠leads me to conclude that his hormone treatment should not be delayed further,â the judge wrote.
âWhile A.B.âs father does not consent to the treatment, I am satisfied that A.B.âs consent is sufficient for the treatment to proceed.â
Continue Reading.
The best part is this:
âThe judge went on to make the following declarations: that A.B. be referred to as male and identified by his chosen name in all legal proceedings, that he be allowed to change his legal name without the need for consent from his parents, that he is âexclusively entitledâ to consent to medical treatment for his dysphoria, and that any attempt to persuade A.B. to abandon treatment or references to A.B. as a girl or using female pronouns âshall be considered to be family violenceâ under the Family Law Act.â
Coming from the Supreme Court of BC, it sets a really good precedent for future cases like this, to explicitly state that misgendering your child is an act of family violence.
