Ares, God of War, and a character from my story, Mythical Lovers. He’s eventually gonna appear in the comic but at the rate I’m going now, it’s never gonna happen lol. I swear I will continue it someday if it kills me. He’s gonna meet Prómachos and the others!! I promise.
Anyway, while fire is not his attribute, I thought it would be cool to incorporate it in his design. Heroes who die battlefield get burned on a pyre, right? I’d like to imagine he’s made of the ashes of all the soldiers who died and then were cremated. The little peacock feather on the brooch is in reference to his mother Hera, he’s a little momma’s boy :3c
As for the eyes, there’s no reason behind that I just like many eyes lmao. Greek gods can be a little eldritch, as a treat u.u
I received this amazing commission of my babies: Athena, Leafy, Ares, and soon to be introduced Kadan, from the seriously talented @stupidere. She is such a dear person and an obviously talented artist. Her commissions are open right now! Go look!
Does Aphrodite wear full armor compared to Ares who barely remembers to get his helmet on? Like you don't know it's her until she takes off her helmet while you're on the ground with her sword tilting your chin up- wait is that how she proposed to Ares?
Anon you're making me blush. 😳😳😳
But yes! I'd like to imagine she does wear armor when the time calls for it!
At the beginning (titanomachy-gigantomachy era) its bulky and covers her figure, ill-fitting, but as she grows more confident in herself and how others percieve her she gets more fitting armor! Think sexy fantasy armor but more practical and has more coverage! And gems, she definitely bedazzles her armor!
She wants to be seen as strong and powerful, and wants to look sexy whilst doing so! Queen, honestly.
They bonded over their shared experiences on Olympus and during the Trojan War! The Erotes also learned a thing or two about bloodlust during that time lmao.
There's just something poetic about the union of war, bloodshed, fear, love, beauty, and lust... I love them.
As for the proposal? Hmmmmm... hard to say because they don't really do anything official. I do like the idea you came up with! But canonically their relationship is more liberal with ceremonies, anniversaries, etc. etc. They were seeing eachother, developed feelings, and their relationship just developed naturally and slightly risque, rolling downhill faster than Sisyphus' boulder. Something that was noticeable to everyone everywhere, but difficult to label other than pure love and lust.
Waxing poetics aside, theyre married but like emotionally rather than legally or socially. It makes sense to my queer ass and that's all that matters ig
