to all the 19 days fanfic writers out there:
y'all are amazing 💕 also, your fanfics always crack me up, because Chinese is a complicated language hahaha
So in Chinese (also in Japanese, in Korean i do not know), people are adressed differently than in most western cultures. So 'He Tian' is 'He' = family name and 'Tian' = first name. Or 'Mo Guan Shan' is 'Mo' = family name and 'Guan Shan' = first and second name.
Also, the language is very formal, characters are only adressed by their first name ('Tian'), when the person is really close to them, speaking as in family, partner or REALLY "close friends" (looking at YOU, 👀Jian Yi & Xixi👀).
So what cracks me up every time, is when - for example - Mo is talking to his mom, and she obviously wouldnt say his full name when talking normally to him, so she shortens it. But, not like to his first name, but his last name, 'Mo'. (DO parents talk with their children with for- and last name? my birthgiver only called me that when i was in trouble lol)
I just think its so funny, imagine coming home after school, your mother waits for you and the first thing she says when you come home is 'How was school today, Smith? :)" or "SMITH, DINNER IS READY, COME DOWN-STAIRS" bwahaha
Also, when Mo Guan Shan and He Tian doing The Dirty ™️ in fanfics, and Mo cries out 'ah~ He Tian, feels so good~ uwu', it basically means in 'our' culture 'ah Smith Harry, feels amazing~' AND IDK YOU GUYS, ITS JUST SO SILLY I LOVE IT BWAHAHA
Or, in fics that arent angsty as shit (i know y'all love them the most, at least I do, thats the good cush) and He Tian and Mo (see? i do it too for shortening the name, poor baby ahaha) are married and living together for YEARS, He Tian STILL calls him 'Mo' only, which would be really unrealistic, considering the fact, that they now are close enough to call each other by their first name (without making it awkward socially).
But on the other hand, i really REALLY love those fics, which have the slowest slowburn you can imagine (recommendations are always welcome btw) and after 1000 chapters Mo calls He Tian FINALLY 'Tian~ <3' for the first time, I'M ROLLING ON THE FLOOR, SCREAMING CRYING, THROWING UP, so yeah, please keep doing that.
Thats all i wanted to say, please dont be offended by my knit-picking (in Germany you would call me a "gottverdammter Klugscheißer" -.-), i still love those fics to death, see y'all later, bye 💜
