Argyroderma delaetii

Argyrodermas belong to the Ice Plant Family (Aizoaceae), and like most members of the family they are native to southern Africa. In particular, they favor quartz-fields in a dry area known as the Knersvlakte in western South Africa. Argyroderma delaetii is variable in flower color, but our pair pictured here have white flowers.

Flower came! Not the most perfect, but boy was it the shiniest pink I ever did see. And check out those anthers!

Argyroderma flower is coming along... It's been a week since the bunk started to show but it has yet to fully spread its petals. The soil I have it in is mostly those little quartz rocks you see, with a little cactus soil mixed in. This grow in South America, often in between fissures f even bigger chunks of rocks. They definitely do not like wet feet for long AT ALL. Can't wait for it to bloom so j can put it outside (i keep it on my porch) and let the pollinators have at it.
