You hummed as you finished boxing up a small pack of cupcakes for your next special order, careful not to mess up the frosting you meticulously piped to perfection. After placing your store’s sticker on the edge of the box to keep it sealed, you heard a shattering of glass outside your shop door.
Looking up through your glass windows, you saw a tall man standing on the sidewalk staring at the ground with his hands on his hips. Curious as to what that was all about, you went out to see if you could help.
“Crap,” Ari mumbled to himself, as he bent down on one knee to see if he could salvage the flowers. Somehow the red dahlia’s were still intact, so he carefully picked them all up, and just as he was about to stand up and set them back in his delivery truck, he heard a bell jingle behind him.
You walked around him to see what was going on and he turned to look up at you, smiling shyly.
You couldn’t suppress your smile at the broad-shouldered gentleman with the pretty flowers in his hands, even if you wanted to. “Do you need some help?” you beamed at the blue-eyed man kneeling before you.
Ari matched your bright smile, “Now what makes you think I need help?” he asked playfully, peering up at you through his thick lashes. Finally standing up to his full height, “Maybe, I just wanted to dramatically give you these flowers,” he joked, gesturing to the little bouquet in his hands. He towered over you, but there was something about him that put you at ease.
You let out a laugh, “Well that’s one way of getting my attention,” you teased. “But before you do that, maybe we should clean this glass up,” you gestured at the broken vase. “I’ll be right back with a broom,” you said, rushing back to grab the sweeper.
Ari ran his hand through his hair as he watched you walk away — you were too cute, with your adorable pink apron and that radiant smile. He quickly made sure that there was no glass on the flowers then pulled and cut out some extra ribbon he had in his truck. After ensuring they were perfect, he tied them up beautifully with a black bow.
The bell above your door jingled again, and he turned back to see you with the big broom and dustpan. “Thank you so much,” he said, grabbing the items from your hand. “And these are for you,” he mumbled shyly, handing you the small red arrangement.
Heat rushed to your cheeks as you smiled at him, taking it from his hands. “That wasn’t necessary, but thank you,” you said coyly.
He nodded his head with a grin before moving to sweep up the glass.
“Um, I’ll be right back,” you turned to head back to your shop.
Ari spent a few minutes cleaning up, making sure that he didn’t leave a shard of glass behind. He didn’t want a woman as lovely as yourself to run into any trouble because of his mistake.
While he did that, you quickly went inside and grabbed a spatula and changed your piping tip to make a little something just for him.
You heard him close up the back of his delivery van’s door, and then the familiar bell rang again. Swiftly packing up the small pastry in a box, you sealed it with your store’s sticker just as he came up to the counter.
“Thanks again for letting me borrow this. Where would you like me to put it?” He held up the broom.
“You can just lean it up against the wall,” you nodded towards the wall behind him, as you scribbled on the box with your sharpie.
He did just that, then returned to the counter. “Sorry about the disruption, but I’m glad it led me to this bakery. You’re really close to my Flower Shop,” he smiled, his eyes soft and warm as he looked at you.
“Well you’ll have to stop by another time, in a less dramatic fashion of course,” you joked, meeting his stunning cerulean gaze. “Here, I um packed this up for you. You can see if it’s worth it to return,” you handed him the box.
“I don’t need to open the box to know that it is,” he smirked, taking the box from your hands. “But thank you.”
Staring into your brilliant eyes, Ari felt himself fall just a bit.
He took a deep breath, “I do have to get going though, I have a couple more arrangements to make and drop off since my delivery guy is out today. I’m a little out of sorts with this side of things, but will you be here tomorrow morning?” he asked hopefully.
“I will, yeah,” you nodded with a soft smile.
“Great, I will see you then, um?” he finally realized he had yet to get your name.
“Y/N.”
“Right, I’m Ari. And I’ll see you tomorrow Y/N,” he beamed before turning to leave, glancing back just once as his hand touched the door.
The bell chimed again upon his departure, and you exhaled a deep breath. What a man.
You couldn’t wait until tomorrow when you’d get the chance to see that gorgeous being again.
As he got in his truck and buckled up, Ari thanked his clumsiness for bringing him to you. You were so kind and enchanting, he couldn’t believe his luck.
Curiosity got the better of him as pulled up in front of his shop. He picked up the box that he’d set on his passenger seat and saw that you had scribbled your name and number on the side. A bright smile graced his lips, but then he gently broke the seal and opened up the box to see what you made for him.
Ari’s heart nearly leaped out of his chest as he took in the little cupcake, flawlessly frosted in the design of a beautiful red dahlia.

The minute you moved as you were waking up, you felt the pain. You let out a groan as you pressed your hand on your stomach.
The Sudanese heat was not helping you feel any more comfortable. In the months that you had been there along with Ari, Rachel, Sammy, Max and Jake, you and Rachel had had many periods between the two of you. Knowing each other’s cycle as well as your own.
There was a comforting silence that filled the air of your’s and Ari’s hut. You didn’t know what time it was but you were aware of the cold patch of bed next to you. Taking a deep breath as a wave of pain hit you. You wanted to get up and take a shower but you felt all the energy drain out of you as soon as you went to move.
You heard a small grunt from the door and looked up to see your boyfriend standing there, a thin layer of sweat all over his body. He was shirtless showing his broad shoulders. As he moved over to the bed you could see his muscles tensing and relaxing. His long hair was in his face, messy from where he had run his fingers repeatedly through it, something he probably did a lot as he was working out.
Laying there silently, you weren’t even sure if Ari knew that you were awake. Suddenly you got another wave of pain along with a feeling of nausea. You knew you probably weren’t going to be sick but you rolled over onto your side, groaning. This caught Ari’s attention as he made his way over to you.
The sensation of his fingers moving hair off of your forehead made you weakly smile.
“What’s going on Sweetheart.” Ari whispered gently in your ear. He let his fingers continue to sweep through your hair as you took another breath.
“Just cramps. I’ll be alright in a little while.”
“Why don’t we have the day off? It's a Sunday so the others can cover for us.” Ari suggested.
“I can’t do that to them. I’ll be fine I promise.” However your vow fell on deaf ears as Ari was already making his way out of the hut. Getting up you quickly showered and cleaned yourself up. You replaced your sanitary towel and took some pain relief pills knowing that they would take effect soon. Making your way back over to the bed you climbed in and stole Ari’s pillow.Breathing in his scent, you couldn’t help but fall back asleep so that you could get a break from the pain for a little while.
This time when you woke up, you felt a soothing hand on your stomach. You immediately recognised who the calloused hand belonged to and you sank into his body behind you. You felt him kiss the back of your head before nuzzling his nose into your hair.
Your peaceful rest was soon interrupted by the need to sneeze. Grabbing a tissue you kept on the nightstand you quickly sneezed feeling the gush of blood in your lower stomach. Groaning, you reluctantly moved from Ari’s hold to go to the bathroom. For the second time that day, you cleaned yourself up before moving back to the bedroom. The first thing your saw was Ari’s sympathetic smile.
“Come here darling.” He beckoned softly as he opened up his arms for you to join him.
It occurred to you at that moment that it was mid-afternoon and you hadn’t worked all day. “Should we relieve the other’s?” You asked him, feeling slightly guilty.
Ari sighed, “Everyone is alright with us being in here. Sammy, Max and Jake think you're just sick but Rachel knows what’s going on and even offered to cover for you for a few days if you need.”
Smiling up at him, you snuggled into his chest, appreciating the warmth he gave you. You pecked his chest a couple of times, feeling his chest hair tickle your nose.
You and Ari cuddled for the rest of the day. You always appreciated these moments with him when he was Ari your boyfriend and not Ari the Mossad agent. “You know what else helps cramps.” Ari grinned cheekily.
“It’ll be messy.” You warned him. You're pretty sure you heard him groan a ‘good’ out before he started kissing down your neck. Yeah, you definitely got lucky with Ari.

This has been sitting in my inbox because I NEEDED to turn this into a drabble !!!
It's so fucking cute !!!!
Highways & Heatstrokes drabble below
Warning: cute, cute, cute moment, fluff, talks of tattoos/needles!
Your fingers are laced with Aris as you wince at the pain inflicted on your skin. It had been your idea; you couldn't get the idea of Ari being forever marked on your skin out of your head. Even if it was more imaginative than just his name.
Right now you're regretting not just going with his name. It's three fucking letters - why the hell would you choose to have an entire tree tattooed on you instead?!
You glance down at your forearm where the tattoo artist is moving the needle over your skin. Your brows furrow, studying it meticulously to ensure he doesn't make any mistakes; you took forever to choose the perfect tree and you would not tolerate it not turning out as pretty on your skin as it did on the paper. You wanted the tree to convey the beauty of Ari; it was big, a thick trunk, large crown that weaved out into many different branches. The coloring is black, making the design more intricate, even the leaves were meticulously drawn out.
Your eyes flit up to Ari's face after a moment, a small smile making its way onto your face when you notice how his eyes are locked on the design currently being painted onto your skin. He feels your eyes on him, quickly meeting your gaze, holding eye contact for a moment.
But then you flinch and whimper when a particular stroke makes it hurt more, scrunching your face up in pain. Ari is there immediately, his free hand brushing over your forehead, fingertips scratching your scalp while he holds your hand firmly in his.
After what feels like forever, the tattoo artist finally finishes.
"All done."
Your eyes move over the intricate design, face splitting into a wide grin as you murmur, "It's perfect."
You get out of the seat before your big, beefy fiancé plops down in it to take your place. He unbuttons his shirt, tan skin revealing itself to you gradually before he points to his left peck, the spot right above his heart.
"I want it right here," Ari says, directing his words to the tattoo artist, "I don't have a specific design drawn out, it's pretty basic, I just need it to be clear."
"Okay," the tattoo artist nods, looking at Ari, "And what are we drawing today?"
You smile warmly as you take Ari's right hand, your fingers tangling with his as he replies, "A sugar cube."
