Angry, irritable, snappy, unpleasant in general. Often violent in short bursts.
She beat Kellogg and emptied a gun into him over Nate. When she finally expressed herself over having to destroy the Institute, she kicked a chair across the room and broke it. When she found out her grandfather had become a raider, she tore through his camp with a high-powered rifle. Eventually, drugs and alcohol became her go-to because they made her too languid and sleepy to be angry or violent.
In her defense, aforementioned grandfather-turned-ghoul raider was her primary parental figure from toddlerhood on and he was not very good at expressing or dealing with emotional pain, either. Hence why, when his wife was killed, he went off the rails with the torture, murder, and kidnapping. Oh, sure, he *said* it was retribution - but really, George is just hurting and knows no other outlet. He inadvertently taught that to Nora by not explicitly teaching her anything else.
Okay, I’m going to shut up now before this turns into a rambling essay about Nora and George and how their relationship is loving but ultimately toxic to themselves and -
Julia & Deacon
@ariejul Julia and Deacon are pretty much a solid fixture in my headcanon so it was going to happen I swept them up in my mermay!
For the "I wish you would write" prompt deal, I think it'd be fun to see Katherine and Deacon run a mission together. Nick in there would be great, too.

“And you’re sure this is where the cache is, Deacon?”
“Everything we got says Medford Memorial.”
“I swear I’ve waved this dang card at every square inch of this place.” Katherine slumped against the stairwell wall, and took a deep breath. “I am not made for this much running around.” She groaned.
Deacon kicked idly at a fallen ceiling tile, watching it clatter down the stairs they had just climbed. He chuckled. “Count yourself lucky that there’s just one floor left, then.”
“Uuuuugh.” Every fiber of her being wanted to complain. Loudly.
Given the previous occupants of the building, though… that might now be the wisest course of action.
“Good thing we haven’t seen any super mu-”
“DEACON.” Kate was quick to interrupt him. “Don’t finish that thought, please. You know that’s gonna jinx us.”
“Alright, alright. I won’t say another word.”
“You’re welcome to let me know if you find this damn cache.”
The third floor seemed as empty as the rest, and Katherine was beginning to wonder if this entire trip was going to end with them leaving, unsuccessful and empty handed.
She suppressed the urge to shout into the dusty halls, and instead slouched backwards, slamming herself against the wall in frustration.
A soft kt-chhh caught her off guard as the wall started moving behind her, sliding to the left. She stumbled, catching herself and bouncing away from the previously hidden door.
“You think that’s the cache? Looks like your butt was better at finding it than the both of us.”
Kate sputtered, though Deacon cut her off with a laugh before she could get a response out. “Hey, chill, I’m just giving you a hard time. The important thing is, we found it, and we might even get back in time for supper!”
“Let’s - uh, let’s… let me just take a look at this stuff.” She turned away to investigate the hidden shelves. Lots of ammo, a few first aid kits… a pair of stealth boys. “Listen Deacon, I know Des said to leave it here for the runners, but I - I don’t know if that’s a good idea.”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, I’ve seen people travelling through this place. Gunners, scavengers, people who’d clear this stuff out and sell it for caps.”
“You’ve got a point.”
“At the very least we should put it somewhere a little more hidden.” She tossed a stealth boy to Deacon. “There was a janitor’s closet back on the first floor that was pretty out of the way.”
“Well, let’s not waste any more time. Took long enough to find this, and I’d rather not meet the folks who stayed here previously.”
Katherine grimaced. Last time she had passed by the hospital, it had been occupied by a gang of super mutants. There were still telltale signs of their presence scattered around. Blood and gore smeared across the floor, bags of rotten meat, and makeshift cages.
“How ‘bout we don’t think about them?”

Oh, I am loving this! You're doing a great job showing how much Farah's parents love her, even if it's not in the best ways sometimes (ie trying to pay off Deacon). I'm really starting to like her dad a lot!
And I forgot to mention, poor Deacon and Claire! You're pulling my heart strings, and I love it. 😘
I’m glad you’re starting to like Maheer! He’s always going to be a curmudgeon (and maybe still do things that’ll make you want to smack him), but he’s always been a family man. In his own special way.
And yeah, Claire and Deacon didn’t have the best childhood. I’ve actually thought about doing some flashback scenes of the two when they were kids, but. That makes me depressed thinking about it.
You are worth every word of love. Worth every good deed, worth every smile, every tear of joy. You are worth the suns rays and the warm air, you are worth the happiness and the laughter. You are worth everything good and beautiful. Give everyone and anyone this message, go to random blogs, someone you don’t even know, stretch your ask limit, anon or not, tell them they are worth it. Yay!! I’ll reply to 5 things that happened this week that made me happy!
- I spent an amazing day at the beach! The sky was very clear and the water had a nice color
- I did thhe current mobile injustice challenge and I got BvS wonder woman!! Spent lots of my credits skipping some battles but still. Hope to gain some back in the online battle rewards heeheheh
- I traveled to other cities nearby! Took some pics, went shopping, bought some gifts for the peeps back home and ate a lot of desserts lol
- My friends @tioalberto (dunno if you still use this) and @ponara-arts encouraged me to get my lazy ass moving and practice a more varied kind of art. I needed that thanks!!!!!
- I reached a follower milestone!
