🍓 triss has a weirdly great relationship with rebecca at the start of book 1! granted most of that is due to triss repressing her feelings for uh her whole life kjfgkjg but they definitely get along REALLY well. triss just. knows how to make people like her i guess, or in her mums case she knows how to make the most of whatever Crumbs of attention rebecca feels like giving her. lmao.

he’s got a whole collection of novelty sunglasses he wears pretty regularly. he’s got enough that ortega hasn’t seen him wear the same ones twice. he had a pretty nice collection back in his sidestep days too. most of them ended up being given away, but ortega kept a few of his favorites :(

coffee snob, but he refuses to make his coffee in anything but a shitty ten dollar coffee machine he got second hand from a thrift shop. its truly a crime.

has a few rings he wears on the regular. a simple silver one with an inner ring that spins, another with an uncut bit of amber as the gem, and another with a few pearls.

5. How are they with people?: Sparrow is pretty good with people! They’re very friendly and easygoing. They’re also relatively straightforward and honest. Sparrow is a sweetheart honestly, very kind and very gentle, but they won’t hesitate to be short with someone who deserves it *cough* Bobby *cough*

10. How well did they handle the reveal that the supernatural exists?: All things considered, they handled it well. They were super confused at first, like how has something like this stayed hidden for so long and is this actually happening? There was a moment were Sparrow was like “they have to be fucking with me” and then they thought about it and some stuff made a little more sense and yeah. From confusion to acceptance in about 5 minutes lmao.

15. What do they think of Unit Bravo? How has that changed throughout the story?: Answered here!

20. What is their personality?: Subject to change because I’m still figuring them out, but gentle forest creature is basically it. They’re super charming, friendly. Incredibly easygoing, like shit happens so they’ll just adjust to what’s going on now. They can be kind of impulsive. Sparrow themselves isn’t terribly chaotic, but they are an agent of chaos because they insist on introducing Felix to things he really doesn’t need to know about. Very, very tactile, gets clingy when they’re sleepy. Incredibly independent but there are underlying abandonment issues.

25. What do they usually wear? Has that changed?: It hasn’t changed, Sparrow is usually wearing either skinny jeans and a button-up shirt or leggings and an oversized hoodie. Beanie when it’s cold, fingerless gloves as well. Boots for sure, usually knee-high boots. They do start stealing Mason’s jacket, so sometimes a leather jacket is added to their wardrobe.

Wind drifts across Ellana’s face, the pale light of the moon painting silver her golden skin. If she closes her eyes, she can almost pretend to be at peace, all the horrors of the night washed away. Even now – hours gone since the fight in the ballroom, all the guests sent away to their beds – she shudders to remember it.

Danger lurks in every corner of this trial of theirs, but it had never seemed quite so real as it had tonight. Ellana is Dalish, for Mythal’s sake. What does she know of this grand game? All that she holds dear in danger, and she’d been naught but decoration— something pretty for the lords and ladies to titter and coo at. She feels a little sick.

“Glad that’s over,” comes a voice from behind her, and she needn’t turn to know Maxwell, but still she does. Her gaze rakes over his figure, more of an assessment than a leer, assuring herself that none of the blood than stains his hands belongs to him. She’d been worried for him. What a strange thought. He comes to rest at the railing beside her, smiling at her askance. “I’m exhausted. I think I danced with every lady in there!”

And perhaps she ought to laugh at his little joke, should smile and let the stress of this evening be soothed away. Instead— “You didn’t dance with me.”

Maxwell starts, lips parting in surprise. He looks at her, hesitant, but still he cannot hide the shine of something like hope in his eyes. “I didn't think—” and here he pauses, swallowing roughly, “I didn’t think you would say yes.”

“I wouldn’t have.” But, and she knows it’s petulant of her, she would have liked to be asked.

Maxwell droops, all the air gone out of him, and Ellana winces. That hadn’t come out right, had it?

“I would have! It’s just— I'm not much of a dancer.” Not a lie, but also not the truth. She can dance to a Dalish tune just fine, and is all too happy to pull her brother into a turn. But these shemlen dances… they’re all so stiff! (All night long she had watched them, and she still can’t figure out why. What’s the fun in one, two, three, turn?) Ellana glances down at her hands, wringing them anxiously. “I didn't want to be more of a spectacle than I already was.”

There’s the rustle of fabric – that awful red thing Josephine had stuffed him in, and still he looks handsome – as Maxwell moves closer, and Ellana glances up. His gaze, in sharp contrast to those of the nobility, is gentle. Soft. “I could teach you, if you wanted.”

“What, now?”

He only shrugs. “Why not?” With a hand extended towards her, Maxwell smiles and she can’t help but grin in turn. “Lady Lavellan, may I have this dance?”

10. Who drives? Cooks? Does the handiwork? Cleans? Pays the bills? Handles the public? So much of this is shareable with them, but cars and every other modern-day object seem to scare and disturb Nate so Amelie’s happy to drive (she’s also a little more inclined to have control over things anyways). She also enjoys cooking and is a lil bossy about it, though he’s a sweetie and probably joins in and helps however possible. The same applies to handiwork, though he might be better at it than her impatient ass. I’m not sure how paychecks work for them in urban fantasyland, but he’s probably a little more efficient so I’ll say he does it and is also the one who cleans more than she does. He’s probably always idly picking up her shoes or clothes wherever she’s tossed them and straightens up things where possible.

17.  What would make them break up? Would it be permanent? I don’t know aaaa. It’s too early to say. I can see whatever his Issue is probably being something that might cause tension. But going just by her own issues, she’d probably do the fun “You’re too nice and I feel anxious because of it because commitment scares me more than I like to think so we should end it” thing, though it probably wouldn’t actually happen even if her nervous mind has definitely considered it. And if it did, it’d last all of one day of sad pining before they’d be back to normal.

37. How much would they be willing to sacrifice for the other? Any lines they refuse to cross? O god, fam, probably a LOT and it still feels too early to say. Damn you, Nate, and your secrets. If the stakes (hehee) were grand enough, they’d probably refuse to hurt others no matter how much they love each other. (Maybe....Amelie really out there beating people senseless in his honor, though, so 👀)
