How They Dance

Oh he knows how to dance.

Trust me.

However, I should be more specific on how he dances.

This guy is perfect for fancy parties and slow dances, he's got the best moves.

But if you intend on taking him to a party at a club... You probably shouldn't.

Because then he turns into such an awkward dancer, it's just not in his blood.

I'm not gonna lie, though. Being able to guide him while dancing and watching his arms attemting to move to the rythm is a cute idea for a date.

I guess it depends on how you see it.

He might see clubs as unclassy places, but will go if you want him to.

Still, he's definitelty the kind of guy who slow dances with you randomly when he's feeling romantic, regardless of where he is.

I feel like he's the opposite to Arlo.

But also not quite.

John is very likely not great at slow dancing, but not terrible either. He manages.

He'd just be a bit awkward at it, I think.

However, he's great to take to any party. All of the other girls will be waiting to get the chance to dance with him as well.

A very fun guy to dance with, honestly.

I also see him as someone who subtly dances at every little noise he hears.

Or any song that may be playing at the distance.

He might move his head forward subconsiously.

It actually pretty cute.

You can guide him in any sort of slow dance as well, he's a fast learner.

First off, you’ve got to have a pretty high power level or else Arlo won’t even consider looking your way.

Arlo’s still cold, but he warms up to you a little bit. Just keeps to himself most of the time. He’ll tell you bits about his life and his family.

It takes time for him to stop treating you like you’re below him because your personality really rubs off on him.

He likes your presence, not just as a body guard (like Holden), but he just likes it when you’re with him. Someone he can actually talk to and someone that’s got his back.

If you’re in trouble, Arlo will come to your side and defend you if you can’t handle it. He’ll play it off like it were nothing, but in reality he doesn’t want his friend getting hurt.

He’ll show genuine concern if you get hurt. Especially if it was defending him. He’ll just come by the infirmary and just hand you a drink.

For him to take a liking in you, you’ve gotta be pushy with him. Flirt with him a ton, and eventually he’ll accept your feelings.

In a relationship, he’s a private person and would like to keep PDA between you guys only. Arlo digs the look of being a power couple that could beat everyones ass.

arlo constantly tugs remi by the wrist whenever she’s causing trouble but the day he starts pulling her by her hand is when it’ll all be over

either awkwardly disentangles their fingers when they’re alone, or keeps it there and pretends he doesn’t notice to not make things weird (it definitely would make things weird)

remi notices first and is like “uhhh”

he looks down at their fingers intertwined and has to mentally shut down and restart for a minute

he lets go and they act like nothing happened, but for the next couple of days after that he purposely avoids remi and keeps staring down at his hand

he takes it so personally bc he is so deprived of physical contact

needs to process it every time, in shock he’s not the one dragging her around for once

remi put an arm around his shoulder once while he was reading and his brain started making analog startup noises while she talked about her day

as a result he thinks he’s allergic to physical contact because no one else has the nerve to do that 

came up with an intricate scheme to avoid touching anyone and then blyke tapped him on the shoulder one day and he acted like he got shot

When He's Jealous

Alright, let's make something clear.

He's already usually grumpy.

So IMAGINE how he gets when he's jealous.

Not good.

He will never, ever make a scene in public.

He has self-control and composure, okay?

But he'll get particularly serious.

Way more than usual.

He wouldn't like to admit he's jealous, so he won't tell you even if you are alone.

His pride would never let him.

BUT, you never fail to notice.

The good ol' Arlo would've taken whoever was flirting with you to some remote area, and then fight them.

But he's different now.

He would love to go back to his old habits sometimes, though.

However, if the person flirting with you is making you uncomfortable, he will crush them. Literally.

Remember that chapter where he trapped someone in his barrier and then started to make it smaller?

Exactly.

He gets so grumpy... It's almost unbearable.

When you bring it up, he denies it.

Of course he's not jealous, you are just annoying.

The truth is that he is very insecure.

He is confident when it comes to his habbilities.

When it comes to his looks.

But when it comes to him...

He knows he used to be a terrible guy, and he's scared you might realize that and leave him.

Because, despite his enormous ego, he truly believes he doesn't deserve you.

But he also wouldn't trust anyone else to take care of you.

Just reassure him and his jealousy will go away.

He's not used to so much affection, but he couldn't live without it.

What Makes Him Blush

Literally everything.

Seriously.

The thing with Arlo is that he doesn't like to feel vulnerable, so he isn't the most expressive guy ever.

However, this means that all of his bottled emotions need to get ou of his system somehow.

Sometimes, they manifest in the form of crimson stains on his cheeks.

And he hates it.

But he can't help it.

It happens when you call him handsome.

He knows he is handsome, but it's different when you say it.

Or when you kiss him out of nowhere.

At least warn him!

Or when you say you love him.

He's never ready for those words, but he's always craving them.

If you ever introduce him to someone else talking about how much you love him, he becomes a mess.

It's just so nice to know that you like to be with him.

Pretty much every little thing that can take him by surprise will make him blush.

But don't get the wrong idea.

When You Are Sick

I'm going to be honest with you, he's the kind of guy that steps away whenever someone coughs near him.

He's just not a fan of germs.

BUT, when it comes to you, It's different.

I've mentiones this multiple times, but he is very protective by nature.

At first, he'd be quite worried about you.

He also feels bad when he sees you having a bad time.

He'd totally convince you into coming over to his apartment so that he can take care of you himself.

He likes to be in control of things he doesn't like.

I have this feeling that he cooks since he lives alone, so he'd absolutely prepare you some soup and tea.

This guy is suuuuper strict with medicines.

You have to take them exactly at the time you are supposed to take them.

Otherwise, "you'll never get better."

If you're honest with yourself, he can be very overwhelming in this situations.

But you know it's because he cares about you.

Will scold you if you aren't wearing warm clothes, especially if you aren't wearing socks.

And then, he'll lend you his.

He's like an old lady.

Will cuddle you despite your protests telling him he'll get sick too.

He's honestly the cutest.

But if you mention it he'll be like "Yeah, whatever."

Carries you around so that you don't "waste your energy."

He might be intense but you have to admit that you recover in a matter of two days maximum.

Arlo x Aloof! Reader

First of all, I think he's a bit of an aloof guy as well, so that'd be interesting.

I feel like he is great with understanding others, especially when he can relate to said person in some sort of way.

I don't think he would mind at all. He's mature and understanding enough to know that you can't expect others to act the way you would, and that's not necessarily something bad.

He doesn't need much to know that you do care and love him

He's all about not pressuring you to do things you just don't want to do, he doesn't ask why, doesn't need a reason. You don't owe him any sort of explanation.

He even kind of likes it, because whenever you do something out of character, like being a bit more expressive on how you feel about him, it means even more to him.

I guess that he would learn how to get to you as time passes.

He understands what you like, what you don't like, etc.

I even feel like he would open himself a bit to you in order to show you that you can trust him during the beginning of your relationship.

And because he is like that as well, you too rarely even fight. Of course, you have disagreements, but nothing too bad.

I won't lie to you, he may get a bit frustrated sometimes, but it doesn't happen often.

Still, I truly believe Arlo is the only guy in UnO who would be a great partner for an aloof person.

Hey, dear! Hope you are having a great day as well. Sorry it took me so long, but you know how this is.😩 I currently have around 30 requests. On the bright side, now we're closer to christmas. And yes, I got through all those books, thank god. Now that I'm on vacation, I'm hoping I'll get to write all those pending requests.

Arlo During Christmas

Listen, I don't want to say that this guy is the grinch...

But he kinda is.

He doesn't really care about Christmas.

The whole season is like any other month to him, except that more annoying.

There aren't many things that annoy him more than seeing christmas related products in October.

Why?

Just why?

Also, the whole family thing.

I imagine he has an unstable relationship with his dad, and, for what we have seen so far, his mom isn't part of the picture.

We all know his aunt isn't great either, and hadn't seen him in a while.

So the whole thing makes him a little bit sad.

The Christmas comercials with big families having a great time, all those parents at the mall buying stuff for their little gremlins...

He tries to stay at home during December.

However, he does enjoy the cold.

And the cloudy days.

They're a perfect excuse to drink black coffee.

I imagine he probably likes to read during cold days as well.

However, the thing might be a little bit different if he has a s/o who loves Christmas.

I imagine that the whole festivity would have a different meaning to him in that case.

Mostly because he likes to see his partner enjoying stuff.

He'll probably get a bit more into all of those things people like to do for Christmas just because of you.

Things like making cookies, for example.

He's probably so good at baking, but don't mention it.

I feel like he becomes a grumpy grandma when it comes to cooking.

You think it's cute, though.

Don't expect him to enjoy Christmas carols. He won't.

Seriously. Never has and never will.

But he could be down to snowball fights if you ask nicely enough.

I wouldn't recommend it, though. You obviously can't even hit him and he won't have any mercy.

Overall, he needs someone a reason to enjoy Christmas. Otherwise, he'll just go on with his days as he would on any other time of the year.
