Starscream? You cut my arms off and make me eat them if i try to hug you?.....Do you deep fry them first at least and add some flavors? Uncooked meat sounds vulgar. >:D
It was just a threat! I don't like being touched, that's all.
A Brief History of Arm Removal in The Adventure Zone: Balance
I need to be stopped.
(updated to include TAZ Imbalance)
For the purposes of this list, we’re defining arm removal as
an instance of a being/force removing or destroying the arms of another being while not destroying the rest of the body.
Legs/other appendages don’t count. (but are listed in honorable mentions for funsies)
Exploding/disintegrating/unmaking a being who has arms doesn’t count, since it destroys the whole body at once, not just the arms.
the arm does not have to be completely intact when it is removed e.g. #10
If the rest of the disarmed being’s body is targeted post-arm removal, that’s OK as long as the arm(s) were targeted first and separately. e.g. #2, #7
my method: going through the transcripts on tazscripts.tumblr.com (thanks @tazscripts!) and Ctrl+F-ing “arm” “leg” and “limb”
I did not go through Here There Be Gerblins since the whole arm removal brand™ started after Moonlighting, but by all means lmk if you can think of a significant arm removal before then, or if you found one that I didn’t include (that fits the criteria).
The original - in the trial of initiation, Magnus slowly tears a mannequin’s arms off (Moonlighting)

Magnus performs a mass disarmament of deactivated/dead robots in the robot room (Crystal Kingdom)
Magnus rips robot Magic Brian’s arm off (Crystal Kingdom)
Griffin mentions a robot “that Carey and Noelle kinda trashed earlier. It’s missing an arm” so the implication is that Carey and Noelle disarmed it (Crystal Kingdom)
Merle takes off his soulwood arm for a mud bath (Lunar Interlude III: Rest and Relaxation) (it’s non-aggressive, but it is still arm-removal)
Magnus burns and then chops off Roswell’s arm during the bank robbery (Eleventh Hour)

Arm Removal Count Per Character
Magnus: 8 individual arms removals (including his own), 3 occasions of mass disarmament of a large amount of robots/mannequins.
Total arms removed: at least 12, counting each mass disarmament as 1 and remembering that both of the arms of the robot in Moonlight were ripped off.
Taako: 3
Killian: 1
Carey and Noelle: 1
Edward: 1
Merle: 1 (non-aggressive)
Total # of Arm Removals (counting each mass disarmament as 1): 18

Magnus loses an arm wrestle despite rolling a 27 (Eleventh Hour)
One could argue that the 2 times Roswell explodes into a big blob of clay constitute “arm removal” since it caused them to no longer have arms. However, as it does not specifically target their arms, it isn’t counted in this list. (Eleventh Hour)
Roswell gets their legs knocked off jumping from one cart to another (Eleventh Hour)
Taako/Dupree bites the top off the fake shark tank during the Boss Rush and in doing so bites the Maarvey mannequin in half, cutting off his legs (Suffering Game)
