Hard day, can I get a hug from someone please?

"You've been having a hard time, huh?" Arman asks, curled up on his hoard when you came in. He moves his tail around you and pulls you close to his body, making sure to be careful with the spines.

"Come on over" as if you had a choice in this ha. He shifts into his other form, and pulls you into a hug wrapping his wings around you a little. The warmth was nice, and hey! You could hear his tail wagging.

"You good?"

By now you couldn’t figure out how long you had been on the island. The fear of the dragon had ebbed away. Arman seemed to be as much a threat to you as you were to him. 

Though he still had to excuse himself, while the dragon flared through the sky you would remain hidden indoors. At first you had carefully counted the days you’d been alone with Arman. Until you realised that you had forgotten to keep track without realising. You had stopped counting the days after two weeks and decided to dedicate your time to exploring the island.

Arman took you to most of the places you asked to visit on the island. He answered all the questions he could answer. As the days went on he seemed to enjoy himself more and more. Loving that he had someone to talk to for a change. Every now and then the dragon would rise and he would rush away. But the more time you spent with Arman, the more you got on with him, the easier it was to ignore the dragon.

It was when you finally decided that you could stay with Arman on the island forever that the fog around the island started rising. Arman was sure he could see a boat in the distance.

“I must go in. The fog is rising.” He said in a tone that made your heart ache. He gave you a long look and started to head up into the cave that you’d been sleeping in. By the time the boat came the fog had risen and the people in the boat were waving and calling to you. As you glanced behind you, you saw Arman hidden away, peering down from his hiding place. You kept your eyes on the island as the boat rowed away. You didn’t hear the people that assured you that the dragon would never find you. It struck you that you wouldn’t mind if he did. In fact, perhaps it was what your heart wanted.
