Not too long ago, I unlocked all the achievements in Armello (and, by the way, it’s the first game where I've completed every achievement on Steam)
It actually happened pretty quickly. For the most part, I earned most of them while playing against bots (when playing with my friend, I got achievements more by accident than intentionally)
My top 3 hardest achievements (going from memory):
- Dark Temptation — the main difficulty here is just how strong the randomness factor is. I can meet all the requirements for the achievement, but the requirements alone still aren't enough (it reminds me of something from math — a necessary but not sufficient condition). This was the last achievement I was chasing, and honestly, I was getting really discouraged. But, like in some kind of fairy tale, the miracle happened exactly when I had already lost hope :)
- Lemur Neeson — considering that I was playing against bots, this one wasn't easy either. At one point I honestly thought they simply didn't know how to steal followers. But the right choice of opponents (preferably rats) and cards (you absolutely need the follower-stealing card) works wonders.
- Cry us a River — to be honest, in my opinion this achievement is a bit overrated in terms of difficulty, if you prepare properly.
I started by taking good attributes for River (+1 Spirit and Wits), tried to pick cards focused on Wits (damage / teleportation / Rot / +1 action point for 2 turns), and of course I made sure the start was ideal (if I felt the opening of the game wasn't going well, I would simply restart)
On my third focused attempt (not counting the many restarts), I finally got the achievement
In fact, I probably would have gotten it even earlier if I had thought things through a bit more carefully and taken certain details (for example, that I can't deal Rot damage if the enemy is standing inside a stone circle)
If you approach this achievement strategically — card selection, completing quests quickly (and choosing the right ones), good equipment, map positioning (and scouting), plus, of course, a bit of luck — then it really isn’t that difficult
At the very least, this one depends much more on the player than on pure randomness, unlike Dark Temptation
Finally arrived! Why play Armello online when you can have it at your table? :V
Art that I made in 2019 of an Armello character, i don't remember his name.
