Arménie (par Titouan)
Noravank Monastery, a 13th century old church near Yeghegnadzor, Armenia
It’s been 32 years today. 25 thousands of people died, hundreds of thousands were rendered homeless.
The Soviet government was not prepared to provide support and had to ask for international help. And it came. From good people all around the world and from Armenians like Charles Aznavour, who managed to get money collected to help rebuild the ruined country.
And there is that song, one that reminds us how such a disaster may strike without any way for us to stop it, and how much we need our fellow man to withstand the tragedy.
I still cry on the opening notes.
Pour toi, Armenie.
Charles Aznavour ( 22 May 1924 – 1 October 2018)
Repose en paix, Monsieur Charles Aznavour 🙏
