Quick overview
Legendary Hector quite frankly makes the other Hectors jealous and then some. The best stat spread with a base 40 atk, and solid weapon and highly optimised bas skill set, make L Hector something to be feared. It's also worth noting Hector emblem will be a thing soon, and this Hector will probably be the star of the team, along with something like Beard Armards I hope.
Base kit
Thunder Armads is a very good but gimmicky weapon. Basically its wary fighter if the allies around Hector outnumber the foes around Hector in 2 Spaces. Basically it's a "Freindship weapon" It also never limits Hector making the double, though he won't naturally due to his speed, so in general it's pretty solid, it does mean though the easiest way to counter Hector is to pick of his team mates first. Vengeful fighter synergises nicely with his weapon allowing him to double with increased specials, which combined with draconic aura means he'll always proc it. Ostia's Pulse is esentially a tactic version of infantry pulse for all movement types, meaning this skill shines in mixed teams. A lot of units make good use of this if Hectors on the team but if running in armour emblem you probably want something else. Oh and there's distant counter which as we all know is b-u-s-t-e-d.
As for assist pivot, swap and reposition are your main movement options for armours, though Pivot is probably the best.
Pros + Cons
+ Amazing attack
+Solid defensive line
+Comes with a stellar base kit to wreck havoc
-One movement hurts a fair bit with armour march support
-If his team goes down, he's a lot easier to KO
-Arguably too similar to other Hectors to warrant a pull.
Partners
Linde and Dealtha are the first Pics which come to mind thanks to dark aura and giving +6 atk to Hector while also blowing red out the water. Tana is another solid choice for that reason but instead of the atk boost she provides guidance support. L Ryoma is a solid partner thanks to being red and covering other greens while Hector covers the blue weakness. Plus Tyoma can give Hector Guidance support and together provide units +4 to def and +2 atk. Along with that hp boost.
Suggested set(s)
Hector, this is the 3rd time you’ve shown Armads this week
Suggested ivs: +atk/def -res/hp/spd
Thunder armads, pivot, Bonfire/draconic aura
Slot A = Distant counter
Slot B = Vengeful fighter
Slot C = Ostias pulse or any C slot
Sacred seals: Close/distant defence
A sole enemy phase set for Hector, allows him to destroy with things in just one engagment thanks to his weapon. Ideally using Hector on a drive team is ideal to give Hector as many boosts as possible. His c skill is really dependant on the team, in mixed teams ostias pulse is broken but otherwise you'll probably want something else, ideally drive def/res to help keep team mates alive, as after all he does need them to proc his weapon.
Gimmie, gimmie, gimmie, a Armads after midnight
Suggested ivs: +Atk/def -spd/res/hp
Thunder armads, pivot, Bonfire, Ignis, Draconic aura, Dragon fang
Slot A = Distant counter
Slot B = Bold fighter
Slot C = Ostias pulse or any C slot
Sacred seals: Quickened pulse or quick riposte
So Bold fighter is arguably one of the best skills in the game, if not the best B slot and for good reason, no hp threshold and allows massive amounts of burst damage for armours. L Hectors whopping 40 atk stat allows him to heavily punish foes on playerphase instead of enemy but with quickened pulse can proc a 1 battle Ignis of all things. Ideally you keep DC there's little reason to change it and makes it hard to engage hector especially with the quick riposte seal. Of course Quick riposte and Quickened pulse can't be used at the same time so pick carefully before blowing your foes up.
Quick overview
So Zephiel at first glance seems to have gotten the cold end of the refinement stick, however he just needs investment to be good, even if he is a GHB who hasn’t be rerun for a while. Zephiel boasts insane defences along with amazing attack. Zephiels main problem is competing with armours, he now has his own niche just depends if you can spare a Hector.
Base kit
Eckesachs at base inflicts defence -4 on foes but when reinfed it inflicts -6 on foes who are not dragons but also provides distant defence 3. This combined with DC can make him insane too bad he comes with..... Life and death? Idk why exactly they thought this was a good choice but its there? It’s even weirder when he comes with wary fighter which means the speed is useless. Finally reprisal is meh on armours especially when he wants to be at high hp.
Giving him pivot or swap is nice for movement options, while something like armour march or other armour skills are nice C slot option, or even panic ploy.
Pros + Cons
+Very nice attack
+Free unit
+Solid defences and weapon refine
-Needs Distant counter badly
-Confusing base kit
-One of the lowest speed stats in the game
Partners
Zephiels best partner is Halloween Henry or Hector, both being able to fend off blue units from a far, while also boosting him with armour skills. In general though Zephiel need a answer to blue magic, so green mages are the best option. Ironically Julia and Deirdre make solid partners too.
Suggested set(s)
Bern Baby Bern
Suggested ivs: N/A
Eckesachs, pivot/swap, bonfire
Slot A = Distant counter
Slot B = wary fighter
Slot C = Armour buff, panic ploy or any c slot
Sacred seals: distant defence
Weapon refinery: Distant defence refine
With he’s refined weapon and the distant defence seal he gains +12 to his defences on the counter attack which puts him at 50 defence, yes 50, making things like bow units have a incredibly hard time breaking through while also boosting his resistance. Either way this is the standard for him now.
*Deep breath*
Suggested ivs: n/a
Eckesachs, reposition, Bonfire/ignis
Slot A = Steady breath/stance, close defence
Slot B = wary fighter
Slot C = Armour buff, panic ploy or Any C skill
Sacred seals: close defence
Weapon refinery = +def is the best option you could do the distant one but it serves little purpose.
So a focus on melee tanking instead, you can abuse steady breath with Zephiel to reliably proc bonfires or Ignis. Combine this with Wary fighter and he’s a scary tank to attack into. He’s also a solid choice for Panic ploy as the only unit who can avoid his panic ploy is Arden.
Quick overview
In this recent times of power creep, new units and op skills, Arden has gone slightly overlooked. Despite owning the worst speed in the game, he’s able to double every unit thanks to his follow up ring, but also his brave sword. Infact without this ring, he is trash and outclassed it most places due to his low speed. Still this means he gets doubled himself a lot, but he has the advantage of the highest hp and defence in the game so hes a very min-max character. Still no matter what you do, you’ll never be able to fix that mug of his.
Base set
Arden comes with a brave sword, making him even slower than he already is, but in return lets him double. A very good trade of for him, as with follow up ring, his unique b skill, he can double so effectively be quad hitting with speed so low Berkut outspeeds him. This also works enemy phase too, so as long as you remain above 50% hp you’ll be safe. Pavise helps him with his tanking skills but otherwise you’re better with bonfire, or ignis for the most devastating raw version of it. Finally drive defence is a nice support option and worth keeping if you like those kinda skills.
His A slot here is very simple. Death blow allows him to do so much extra damage it’d surprise me if you weren’t blue that you survived. Still other options include steady breath and distant counter but for the most part those require set reworks. Pivot is highly suggest if not using armour march support.
Suggested set(s)
Death by wall
No ivs
Brave sword+, pivot, Bonfire/Ignis
Slot A = Death blow 3
Slot B = Follow up ring
Slot C = An c skill or Armour buff
The relatively cheap and easy set and it should need little explaining. Death blow adds +6 attack to one hit essentially, so that’s an extra 24 damage. Consider him the slightly less mobile and powerful version of Cherche. Oh and considering he hits 4 times bonfire or ignis are solid options, bonfire will deal 20 damage while Ignis offers 32, enough to KO some units on its own. You have to use follow up ring though to keep this going. Finally any C skill will do him it’s just what you need.
Don’t punch walls
No ivs
Slaying edge+, pivot, Bonfire/Aether
Slot A = Steady breath
Slot B = Follow up ring
Slot C = An c skill or Armour buff
So we swap out a weapon and a A slot to get this highly defensive set, which is sure to Ko most anyone who dares come near him. Slaying edge reduces you’re cool down so that if using bonfire, it activates every turn, and considering you’re slow you’ll get doubled and can use follow up ring to proc it again, while Aether relies on the double to proc but you get health regain too. Steady breath also offers the extra defence which is nice. Basically just place him where you wish you had a wall and soon you won’t need a wall.
