Brand new waistcoat from the WDD Waistcoat Labs! Made from a vintage army modular tent, reusing button details. Added a full lapel and four functional double welted pockets to demilitarise it. Tent fabric is similar to heavy weight ventile, a challenge for both sewing machine and needles, though with a soft handle. Hardcore garment gazers will appreciate back detail showing how to connect individual tent pieces to assemble larger tents. Very clever idea. Now that the Xmas waistcoat is done, it’s time for the next project. I was going to make a jacket out if this vintage army tent/smock, but the inspiration proved fickle and fleeting.
