Here’s my denim vest with all the patches I’ve embroidered and some other pride gear! I highlighted specific patches throughout the week, but here they all are together :)
Queer Chemistry patches I made for various identities (In order: Agender, Nonbinary, Aromantic, Asexual, and Neurodivergent/queer), modelled after periodic elements!
I embroidered myself a subtle aro pride mask earlier this year! It’s a bow & aro symbol which combined with the actual fabric incorporates all colors of the aro flag :)
Considering posting about pride patches I’ve embroidered for ASAW but in the past when I’ve posted my embroidery it doesn’t seem to get circulated much at all? I’m not sure how much of that is lack of interest vs. something with the format, especially since some have been tutorials specifically. Is it better to have just 1 image with minimal words? Could also possibly be because of tumblr being weird about links, considering I like to refer back to other things a lot? Idk. I have made many cool patches though, and actually sewed them onto vest somewhat recently which is much aesthetic, but yeah I could probably post about aro pride patches daily throughout the week if decide to.
Embroidered Aro DIY Pride (Carnival of Aros, May 2020)
I enjoy embroidering and the main thing I embroider is patches, many of them having to do with aro or other queer pride things. Above is a picture of the back of my denim vest along with most of the patches I have made with varying degrees of completion.

Queer Chemistry: Across the top of the denim vest are 5 square patches inspired by the queer chemistry enamel pin set. In order: Aromantic flag (as element argon, Ar), Asexual flag (as element arsenic, As), rainbow flag representing both generally queer and neurodivergent (as element neodymium, Nd), nonbinary flag (as element niobium, Nb), and agender flag (as element silver, Ag).
Triple A battery: Outline of a battery on black fabric with 3 letter “A”’s inside, from left to right the A’s have aromantic, asexual, and agender pride flags. (this one is cut out but not completely turned into a patch).
Aro Arrow: an arrow made up of the aromantic pride flag. It is on white fabric with a green rectangular border. (this one is complete but I haven’t place it on vest yet).
The following four patches are the ones not cut out from the white fabric:
Queer Pride chevron: queer chevron flag inside a shield-like shape. The top of the shape is filled in with black and has the word “pride” embroidered in white.
Aro d20: Aro pride flag colors in the shape of a d20 dice (bc I’m a d&d nerd). It has different colors in different triangles/sides making up the shape rather than even stripes.
Aro autisticat: The black silhouette of a cat with the rainbow infinity symbol for autism as a bowtie on its neck and a bow in aro colors on its tail.
Queer rainbow: a rainbow with the 8 colors of the original queer pride flag, with each color made of a single row of stitches along the arc of the rainbow.
The following are the ones towards the right of the white fabric:
Voidpunk Aro UFO: a UFO/spaceship with the word “Voidpunk” embroidered in blue across it which is shining down a beam of light in aro flag colors. (this is cut out from fabric but not turned into a patch yet).
Yellow Rose: I like roses and I like the yellow rose because it symbolized friendship. This patch is on light yellow fabric with the rose embroidered in darker yellow and green leaves around it. This is a completed patch with a tidy green border.
Aromatic Aromantic: This one is such a nerdy chemistry thing. So, the basic type of aromatic molecules is a 6-carbon ring with 3 double bonds, and the simplistic way of depicting this is a hexagon with a circle inside of it. This has the hexagon with a circle aromatic symbol in gold. In between the hexagon and the circle is the aro pride flag. I thought inside the circle looked plain so I added a bow and arrow inside of it in silver because of Artemis. Then across the top is the word “Aromantic”, mostly in white but the “n” is green such that reading just the white letters would say “Aromatic”, thus it can be read as “Aromatic Aromantic”. (this one is not cut out from the black fabric it is on but is folded up so only this patch is visible).
