Romance Repulsion

Hey I wrote my romance repulsion thing! about my experiences with it. It’s also a fair bit about amatonormativity, ofc. but here it is:

So it's the final day of arospec awareness week which is very sad, but I just want to remind everyone of one small, important thing:

Over the next 24hrs you will slowly become invisible again, going from your feet up. Now is a great time to play hide & seek and hide behind the curtains, or wander around in a sheet pretending to be a ghost.

I wanted to do something for the aro awaerness week, but hate taking selfies, so I painted this instead

You are more than 'romantic attraction'. There is more to you than whether you feel it or not. 'Aromantic spectrum' is not the only term that describes you -- friend, family member, scientist/artist/barista, star trek enthusiast... any of these and more words are part of who you are. People who only see you for your romantic orientation are people who don't see you.

You are valid if you've always known you were aromantic, just as you're valid if you didn't realise that you didn't feel romantic attraction until you were told about it.

No matter what experiences lead you to identify as aromantic, you are valid to identify as such.

So the aromantic event was really great; it was awesome to be able to talk about non-101 stuff to people who are alloromantic. I was really pleased to see that it wasn't just another 101 presentation, that it had discussion to it.

Am I just looking in the wrong tags or is there really not that much stuff going on for Arospec Awareness Week? I feel like it was a lot busier last year.
