Dating simulator where you play as Susie trying to decide who to ask out for the festival. You can try to romance Noelle, Kris and Ralsei. Berdly also asks her out, but there is not a single instant where she considers him. (Unrelated but he's aromantic here.)

The Noelle route includes very awkward lesbian pining, a magical ride on the ferries wheel and lots of singing and dancing.

The Kris route is basically them slowly taking the "b" out of bromance, being their chaotic selves and causing chaos while holding hands and giggling like maniacs. They make other people deeply uncomfortable.

The Ralsei route is soft and full of exploring the festival (and their relationship) due to them both being new to Home Town. Ralsei is able to buy Susie ice cream with Kris' money, and Susie wins him a really cute plushie by cheating.

At the end of every route, no matter who you try to romance, Susie ends up realizing she doesn't need to choose. She says fuck it and ends up spending the rest of the festival with everyone, and they kiss and hold hands and have the time of their lives. Berdly is there for moral support and for the sake of annoying the shit out of them.

Everyone is sleeping on transfem aroace berdly.

She's somone struggling with toxic masculinity because she thinks that's how she's supposed to be and she forces herself into what she perceives as hypermasculinity. There's a reason she fails so miserably at it; because she fundamentally does not understand how to be a boy.

Obviously, all boys can and often do experience toxic masculinity and a failure to live up to these standards, but I find the way Berdly fails so miserably to be masculine while taking every opportunity to flaunt his apparent masculinity incredibly fascinating and indicative of something more going on. It's why transmasc Berdly is likely so appealing to people and a great headcanon, even if I don't personally subscribe to it.

She's also aromantic, probably asexual. She does not get romance AT ALL but tries to force herself to experience it because that's what she thinks is normal. She falls into the allonormative pits of society because she doesn't know what else to do with the fact that she does not experience what everyone else seems to.

She assumes everyone likes her because, wow, she's just this really desirable masculine man who is so romantic and totally knows what she's doing! And whenever she feels platonic attraction she just assumes it's romantic because that's what she's supposed to feel.

I feel as if she has a lot of similar experiences to Ralsei in which they suppress the girl inside for what they think is the betterment of society as a whole, even if they go about it in extremely different ways.

This is also why Berdsei is peak.

But, like, Berdsei where it isn't romantic they just understand each other and see each other in a way that most people don't, even if they show their experience in different ways. If they ever do interact, which is becoming less and less likely, unfortunately.

Anyways, this isn't about them, it's about girl Berdly. This is pretty much not the intention of Toby Fox, though I could see aroace Berdly being possible. However. media analysis is meant to be a little out there sometimes. Transcoded aroace Berdly got the win.

I need to talk a about how berdly is absolutely aromantic. Think about it just think he switchs crushes like theyre pairs of shoes and his only real reason is cuz they were sorta kind to him (Noelle) or he thought of them as cool (Susie). He barely even knows what love is he just saw someone he liked being around and went sure ill have a crush on her. There's no way he isn't just an unaware aromantic, likely with some ingrained aphobia. He talks about romance like it's just another life aichevement and not something he actually wants or feels. Not to mention the colors on his darkworld sprite are basically just the aromantic colors.

All that being said i do sorta ship kerdly (queerplotanicly) not only is it pretty funny, but the possibilities with those two are really interesting. We know Kris doesn't hate berdly and even hung out with him fairly often pre soul. We also know that Berdly respects and actually cares about Kris. Not to mention all the angst that could be had with the snowgrave route hehehehe
