"You were right when you said that some missions aren't worth the cost. So I'm gonna make sure this one is."
If I’m wrong, then all of this is for nothing.
Dinah Laurel Lance + Lyla Michaels - Arrow 8x02 “Welcome to Hong Kong”

Arrow 8x02–WOW!
I mean, this shit just keeps getting better and better!
Oliver Queen, kicker of asses, paragon of heroes, slayer of ovaries.
“We’re in Hong Kong” I feel robbed of Oliver speaking mandarin
Earth 2 is toast. Damn, The Monitor wasn’t kidding
“You have a history of not following orders” yeah no shit buddy where have you been the last 34 years?
“You intervened for Tommy” Again, have you met Oliver before?
In general, it really hit me how willing Oliver was to follow The Monitor and why. His discussion with Tatsu really presented it nicely: he’s lost everything and he has no reason not to follow The Monitor, and therefore he’s not asking some of the questions he ordinarily would, or prioritizing the same things (collateral damage, credibility of authority) it’s a look we haven’t seen on Oliver before, and I’m glad we’re looking in to it.
Tatsu tried to compare his following of Waller to his follow of The Monitor, but Oliver’s exactly right: it doesn’t matter what happens, he’s on his way to his death anyway; he’s said goodbye to Felicity and his children. He doesn’t care what happens as long as his family lives. I was hurt on Oliver’s behalf by this comparison, it’s really a totally different animal.
It’s actually really fucking sad.
ANYHOW
The Wedding Ring. The Flashback. Thank you, Arrow, but also, Fuck You.
Great action in this episode all around!
Lyla Michaels has been working with The Monitor this whole time, don’t act surprised, you aren’t.
I liked the ratio of future to present here. I don’t need a ton of Future TA. It’s nice, but enough is enough.
I adore William and Mia’s dynamic.
“I’m going to Nanda Parbat” ok, ok, this is fine.
