My dad explaining the work ethic of australians: "Here in Australia it takes forever to get an education - years and years - because of the university system"

Me: "I know...by the time i'm done with a PhD I'll be in my late twenties...how am I supposed to have time for a career and have a family?"

Exchange arsehole student: "ma tu non hai voglia di trovare un lavoro part-time!" (you don't even want to have a part time job) [i'm 16 btw]

Me: "Quando mai!? Non è facile come pensi. Di dove sei i ragazzi alla mia età non lavorano part-time....eppure non hai il minimo idea come una persona al liceo prende e cerca un lavoro part-time, non vivi qui." (What?! It's not as easy as you think. The people where you're from don't even work part-time as teenagers....what's more, you don't have any idea how a person my age even searches for and gets a job, you don't live here.

Exchange student: "mah che scherzi. Anche se troverai un lavoro dopo finirai l'università che paghi, ad esempio, 3 milla al mese, non sarai contenta." (Please. Even if you find work after you finish uni that earns you 3 thousand dollars a month you won't be happy.)
