I'm having a bad day so allow me to talk about Jim Henson for a minute.
I've been neck deep in this biography of Jim for a while and here are some of my favorite little bits:
Jim trying acid and being disappointed because it did nothing for him.
Him telling Richard Hunt (playfully) to "Richard, shut up and go away"
He liked the spectacle of getting dressed up to go gambling, and whatever money he won he would spend on lavish trips and vacations for the entire muppet crew
When he was away from his kids, he would make sure to call them before bed every night and was very much so still a huge part of their lives
Jim tossing Ernie on the ground unceremoniously, to which a baffled Caroll cradled Ernie in his arms and told Ernie that "Jim's sorry, he didn't mean that."
The entire section on Emmet Otter's was so brimming with love for the project I barely didn't start crying.
The way Jim would be very quiet most of the time, but if you got him laughing, really laughing, he would cackle until he started crying and then some.
The time he was trying to get a shot that involved a puppet Frank Oz was wearing to get set on fire.
He had an archer shoot an apple off of a puppets head for a commercial, during which Jerry Nelson was right handing and terrified.
Jim ALWAYS wanted and respected Jane's input and feedback, even after they were separated.
