Thinking that "professional hair dye" is considered professional because of some harsh chemicals in them or some shit. But then I discovered that no, it's actually just cuz of unnecessary gatekeeping. There really is no reason for it for a lot of "professional" dye brands. There is nothing about "respecting the craft" by gatekeeping better quality hair dyes. Putting dye on hair isn't a craft, it's about the way you put on the hair dye or mix them or whatever that makes it a craft. And it shouldn't be limited as an art form to those who go through getting an education or qualifications or whatever
