This is an actual au I have! I did NOT just randomly slap some scars on Scott and call it a day. He is the same height he is in my normal au bc fuck it why should I make him shorter just bc he was born a girl

Also my gut was telling me to give him periareolar surgery but then he wouldn't have such visible scarring & I want something more noticeable to physically set him apart from cis Scott. So. Double incision it is.

So. The thing is. I've given Vincent some kinks that can be boiled down to "he has a fetish for Scott"

I will not be elaborating. All will be revealed in due time.

I'm being drawn towards giving them a meandering relationship that never really goes anywhere but is a constant in both their lives for a very long time.

They'll go through stretches of time without seeing each other, months or even years occasionally. Also I love the thought that after the last time they see each other, Vincent dies of some natural cause out in the woods (prob in like. Middle age cause he does not have access to healthcare) & Scott never really knows for sure if he's dead. He just stops showing up & as the years crawl on Scott wonders whether he died or just decided not to show up ever again. Lack of closure is very realistic and I like disappointing yet realistic endings.

But anyway Scott's never truly in romantic love with him cause Vincent is such a strange creature I don't think he WOULD fall in love and I made Vincent incapable of romantic love in this au. For Scott, this could either mean

1. He gets enough fulfillment out of his relationship with Vincent that he doesn't feel the need for a romantic relationship (I don't think he would be 100% content but it might be "good enough" for him)

2. His relationship with Vincent allows him to start exploring his sexuality and encourages him to seek out a romantic relationship with another human.

I haven't decided which yet but I'm leaning toward option 2.

My friend told me this is sad because "what do you mean they spend all that time together and never experience romantic love" but I think he just doesn't see the vision. I have a different relationship dynamic for them in every AU. I have AUs where they're awful for each other and make each other worse, I have an AU where they end up in a throuple, I have AUs where they have a happy ending. It's about time for an AU where their relationship isn't anything intense or serious it just kind of is, and is hard to put a label on because it's not bound to the constraints of what society tells us a typical relationship should look like.

I've figured out their dynamic. Ngl this is my most wholesome au so far which I was not expecting but...I'm not mad about either.

God I have so much to yap about. Under the break.

I. Uh. Had to axe Vincent's sex drive in this. It was necessary please let me explain

IF he was as horny as human Vincent the only way I could see this AU going is Vince picking Scott out, stalking him for a few months, then asking him to be his mate & kidnapping him if he says no.

AND Scott is kind of demisexual (he does not id as such but I know in my heart that's how he functions) and also NOT really into monsters so this freaky ass creature appearing out of nowhere asking to fuck him is gonna be a HUGE NO.

& I'm NOT giving Scott Stockholm syndrome. I won't do it you can't make me

SO the only way I can give 1. Scott the time to get to know Vincent, thus considering a relationship with him and 2. Vincent the time to get to know Scott, making him less likely to react violently if/when rejected, is if they are able to bond without Vincent being a perverted bastard.

AND since the mothers of Vincent's species die after giving birth it makes sense that they wouldn't mate very often.

THAT MEANS Vincent only gets horny during mating season 😐 which occurs once a year, in late summer/early fall

And so. Before the first mating season hits their relationship consists of Vincent trading manual labor for seafood (he loves the taste but he's meant for land hunting & they live inland anyway so he doesn't have access to most seafood). Slowly Scott gets used to him over time and kind of falls in love, but knows that since Vincent is a monster, they're never going to have anything close to a traditional relationship. So he doesn't push for a committed relationship, even when it turns sexual.

This is gonna take a lot of the pressure off Vincent. Since Scott isn't pushing for something serious, he's not gonna get scared away.

I need to think more about what this means over time for them. But I can guarantee at least the first few years of their relationship are actually happy and kind of healthy.
