I don't disagree with the show's thesis, however I'm not sure that the works selected evince its claim of atemporality within contemporary painting. That said, the discussion of its validity apart from the selected works, to my mind, showed an ignorance of interconnectedness of contemporary society and was a frustrating distraction from conversation about the exhibition and of the works themselves.
