Forget Me Not

The longing of having someone with us, the sadness of being alone and feeling we shouldn't have to. The low anger at them being so important to us that their absence hurts. The ever so slight need for revenge for their forgetting us, and our turning a cooling shoulder to reassure us of our independence. Acrylic and metal leaf on paper, ~50×70cm.

During a caffeine rush I put down a dozen drawings in the same vein and am currently painting them. They are also part of a series of experimentation with mark-making and tools that I have come to call the Texture Quest. Here, I used silicone combs and masking fluid on an underpainting.
