For all that it’s a nice day out—clear skies, warm with just enough of a breeze to keep the air from clinging like a second skin—he finds himself unable to enjoy it as his mind constantly wanders back to the diagrams he’s been working on drawing up, scattered across the floor of his room. He’d fully intended to spend as much time as possible during his summer break to work on plans for improving the dome, maybe even presenting a few to his father before he has to go back to campus.
But of course, the Fates hadn’t been on his side this fine morning, and now he finds himself fair being dragged down the street by his youngest sister. Apparently, there is a new café that’s set up shop near home, and what better way to bond with your absent sibling than to kidnap them for a few hours of frivolity against their will. His own fault, he supposes, for not putting his foot down more firmly when she first burst in to poach him earlier. “Their coffee better be damned good,” he grumbles half-heartedly, resigned to his fate.
