So I'm doing a crossover Sburb session, and I'm trying to figure out what kind of twists in Paradox Space could screw with/change the session. It's MLP based, with 12 of the younger characters (CMC plus Spike and some others, Snips and Snails as the Bard of Doom and Prince of Light to cause some chaos, etc) as the players. A normal session of Sburb might be fun to write, but I feel like that's just too vanilla?
sure is. normal sessions are kind of boring. its just => enter =>land quest and travelling through gates => denizen deal =>frog breed =>defeat black king.
heres sum ways to spice it up!
-Moon drama. you can do lots with jack noir and the black queen’s relationship. Is jack an ally like he was for the trolls, or a big bad like he was for the kids? You have to get both of the rings SOMEHOW in order to light the forge and incubate the frog
-First Guardian drama: antagonist? friendly ally? perhaps it was going to be a loyal ally until someone/thing evil mindcontrolled/blackmailed it.
-Sburb+: a normal sburb session with an addition of outside element. Like maybe the peice of Sombra’s horn snuck in and is corrupting everything it touches into horrible glitch thats slowly spreading. Or there are changlings just, yknow, changelinging around. You can come up with more things, im sure!
-Sburb-: a normal sburb but its missing something important that the kids have to make up for. Maybe there are NO frogs and the space player has to create them from scratch and probably do something that causes frogs to exist in the first place. Maybe the dreamselves are seperate entities that work on their own, either with or against the players. maybe there is only ONE planet for all of them, with different regions for each of their own Land Quests and they have to stop it from bleeding into each other
or you could really push power of friendship and instead of making it your goal to defeat the black king before the reckoning, establish peace and an alliance between the two and take the scepter peacefully
