Gifts from our favorite artists for the holidays!
During our Armory Week Tea Ceremony, the lucky few got to experience drinking tea while sitting on SerpentSea's Mats.
Today's GREY AREA Spotlight: Martin Oppel's Untitled (Laptop Stand), and Bar (Abstraction), 2011
From his latest series, Oppel's metal sculptures exist in between worlds, in a fluid state. Their position, their function, is in question, open and defy definition. Check out Oppel's other works: Revisited Romantic and Crate Ziggurat, Galerie Perrotin.
About the artist:
Oppel lives and works in Miami and New York. His work has been included in numerous group exhibitions nationally and internationally, such as The 2nd Athens Biennial, "Weather Reports" at The Ecole Regionale Des Beaux Arts in Rouen, France, "The Station" curated by Shamin Momin and Nate Lowman in Miami, and solo shows at Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin in Paris.
