Train time - ‘Nothing To Say’ from our album #SonicBoom- we have played nearly 30 shows since leaving TORONTO on this adventure! 3 forty five minute sets a day on board and a station show in Winnipeg Jasper and Vancouver! Well actually 2 in Jasper! A 45 min set is about 14 acoustic songs because we ‘edit’ them often to exclude those cool guitar and piano solos! So typically, depending on the crowd, if they are new, we start with 7 original tunes and then we start taking ‘Canadian’ artist requests- we have at least two songs to play from each of the big Canadian acts— including Blue Rodeo, Bare Naked Ladies, Alanis, Alanah, Jan Arden, Joni Mitchell, Sarah McLaughlin, Neill Young, Lightfoot, Bryan Adams, WOTE, Shania even Anne Murray and Sylvia / Ian Tyson— if we have an Aussie crew, we’ve found Crowded House and ‘Dream It’s Over’ and if we have an American crew we play a couple CCR songs and some Fleetwood Mac. So there’s something for everyone- and I love to hit them with the surprise Brooklyn Doran and Jessica Speziale song— which I’m pleased to report back, are very well received! we even ventures into some Gaga tonight. We typically play in the lounge cars— a box car with couches and an upstairs dome section for viewing the outdoors. Unfortunately we aren’t allowed to show you those performances, but I have some station footage of our show in Vancouver and Jasper that l will post. It’s a great program by crown corporation Via Rail Canada- they treat Canadian artists like gold! We are grateful to have this opportunity to travel first class and sing for our supper— meet fantastic people from all over the world, share our music, and messages— make friends and fans— connect on social media— and generally do what musicians do— #thankyou #gratitude #artistonboars #artistsonboard @viarailcanada @andy.acrosstheboard @jackie.acrosstheboard https://www.instagram.com/p/BsW-ozZBgsu/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=gv4y42dsy0gt
