I thought I'd share a behind the scenes image of what it takes to make a shot sometimes. I took a few nice images of the shoes but really wanted something dramatic to showcase them and was having a tough time in the hotel lobby. I decided to try something different by creating a sliver of light through a chair back with my off camera flash. I loved the final result. Sometimes you have to take a moment see things differently. People often (OFTEN) ask why I carry around my bags during an entire wedding. This is one example. See that other photo? (go look, two over from this one➡) these were taken less than a minute apart and I was able to get the entire view of the rooftop with one lens and off camera flash/attachment and then bring the background closer once I swapped out to shot with my 70-200 and grabbed a different diffuser for my flash.
