Just a photo of my rollator all geared up for when I was sketching in Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee with Scott Christian Sava (@ssavaart) earlier this week. Klimt is in town! Monday my art friends went in a pilgrimage to Ueno to see the exhibit, yet another one I never dreamed I'd ever see in person. It was a beautiful day, granted I was still dealing with my allergy cold. The art was amazing. I feel really drawn to his sketches, many were faded and almost invisible. His use of gold, and dimensions and flat, blurry areas are exceptional. My favorites included a really rough sketch in 'the red sketchbook of Judith and Holofernes', the foundation studies for his 'Medicine' painting featuring Hygea, and 'The three ages if women'. I wasn't prepared for the study of his dead infant son, nor an actual photograph of the baby in his coffin, surrounded by flowers. It was among a handful of momento mori portraits at the end of the exhibit. It was very hard not to see my own precious baby girl, or be reminded of the few photos of her shortly after her passing.
