fleurs grises (grey flowers)

graphite crumbles as it brushes against textured paper

tempered strokes connect dark, thick, light, and thin lines 

shades from the whitest grey to the blackest black interweave

what emerges is neither colorful nor bright,

but grey is beautiful in its own right
