Moving Image Project | Research | Title sequences

There’s some brilliant title sequences from TV shows I’ve watched in the past, and some of them are brilliantly simple in their nature.

Top Gear | Essentially just a load of film clips put together in conjunction with others in a cool transitioning style. The music obviously helps too, but it’s just a great simple opening title sequence.

The Inbetweeners | Black and white, photography of the guys and then edited digitally to create this sequence. There’s just the odd burst of colour, but it’s just a good bit of physical and digital animation.

Breaking Bad | Zooming out of lots of layers, and whiffs of smoke and fumes passing through. Eerie music too to create that mystic effect.

Only Fools and Horses | Obviously an old one and they didn’t have the tech that’s available today, but it still works brilliantly as a title sequence. Just still images passing through each other with labels appearing now and then to show the credits.
