Asia Winter Baseball League 2016: NPB East out of Europe’s league.

The Japanese teams seem to be out of team Europe’s league. Team Europe started with the best possible lineup (hitting wise) as the first six in the lineup all had a +.300 batting average at the start of the game. After four innings the team trailed 4-0 even though the offense collected as many hits as their opponent.

Asia Winter Baseball League 2016: Europe gives it away in final two innings

After a day of rest, team Europe took on the NPB East team (which is a kind of all star team of the NPB Ni-Gun League (minor league) of the NPB’s Central League (one of the two Japanese Major Leagues). The Dutch managed to tie the game after trailing by three runs but eventually gave it away thanks to a couple of errors and lost 8-4.

Asia Winter Baseball League: Europe loses first game but manages to score nine

In their first game of the 2016 Asia Winter League Baseball, team Europe fell 14-9 vs the representatives of the KBO. Europe’s starting pitcher Daniel Alvarez was hit hard. In the first inning he gave up five runs and in the second inning he gave up four more without recording an out even though one was unearned.
