🟨 A SPROUT OF GLASS Stefania Mazzola is a slender girl with a focused language for drawing the worlds in which she lives. Rovereto-born and educated, grown up in Ala, she brings with her the heritage of academic studies adhering to her personality, and recent years have seen her settle in Venice. In the most feminine of cities, Stefania attracted the interest of the Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa. At present, she swings daily between sea and sky towards Murano, where the volcanic glassworks of the lagoon await her. Incandescent places, with fires that for centuries have been shaping the fourth state of the material she loves because it is so similar to her way of being: fragile in appearance, yet capable of solid yet cutting performances. On tiptoe Stefania is preparing for a new phase in her art, strengthened by her experience as a craftsman with the rare workers who will allow her to sculpt glass while it is still hot. And it is with glass that Stefania filters the forms of reality: the beloved plants, up to the wunderkammer of the Museum of the City of Rovereto, the subject of the workshop "Leave a sign" that she conducted on Saturday 20 November 2021. "Welcoming, animated, like a bud", is how Stefania describes her impression of Santa Maria, a place almost unknown to her, and now experienced by her, albeit for a few days, with delicate enthusiasm.
