In recent years technology has been developing faster and faster.

Of course, we have several benefits: for example, we can communicate instantly with people who live far away from us. Using Internet, it is possible to read news, useful information, curiosities and more. Social Networks are becoming increasingly popular worldwide.

A smartphone allows us to send messages, call, take photos and videos, listen to music, watch movies, modify photos, play,... Usually the size of a smartphone is quite small, so we can bring it with us everywhere and every time. Devices between 5 and 7 inches are called "phablets", because they are bigger than phones and smaller than tablets.

On the other hand, going around the city we can notice lots of people using electronical devices in a constant and unstoppable way. Some young people take "selfies" almost every minute... They look like obsessed, not able to turn it off and do something else. It is a real "technology mania", people should think about this.

What about reading a book or doing some sport?

I posted some parody-paintings made by the artist Kim Dong-Kyu, which are dramatically realistic. He modified old famous paintings by introducing electronical devices in a smart way.

Kim Dong-Kyu est un artiste moderne qui sait vivre avec son temps et qui s’inscrit dans une mouvance : la passion des périphériques que sont l’iPhone, l’iPad ou encore le MacBook. Nous vous invitons plus que jamais a visiter sa page Art X Smart réalisée fin 2013. Vous pouvez par la même occasion lui faire un petit signe. Cela lui fera très certainement plaisir. Vous trouverez à coup sûr une certaine fraîcheur dans les toiles de Kim Dong-Kyu. C’est plaisant et humoristique et on en vient même à se demander si cet iPhone ou ce MacBook si bien intégré à la scène n’aurait pas toujours été là !

Kim Dong-Kyu revisite Velázquez, Van Gogh, Manet, Chagall, Degas, Picasso…

Souvent, on reproche aux jeunes générations de ne pas s’intéresser au troisième art, la peinture. Avec l’oeuvre créative et « frondeuse » de Kim Dong-Kyu, ils n’auront plus d’excuses ! Parmi les artistes que vous allez pouvoir apprécier et redécouvrir dans les vingt-quatre toiles (Saturne devorant son enfant, le Balcon, Déjeuner sur l’herbe, le Serment des Horaces, La naissance de Vénus, L’Angélus, la Cène, La Mort de Marat, Le Cri, L’Absinthe, Les Joueurs de cartes, etc.

Il y a en vrac : Pablo Picasso, Auguste Renoir, Edward Hopper, William Blake, Vincent Van Gogh, Edouard Manet, Gustave Caillebotte,Jacques-louis David, Edgar Degas, Alexandre Cabanel, Edvard Munch, Edouard Manet, Diego Velázquez, Marc Chagall, Georges-Pierre Seurat, Caspar David Friedrich, Leonard De Vinci, Francisco Goya, Jean-François Millet, Mary Cassatt, Gustav Klimt, Paul Cézanne. Le travail de cet artiste sur lequel on a peu d’informations est relativement qualifié. Si vous en avez le temps, vérifiez la toile originale puis ensuite, la peinture modifiée. C’est extrêmement subtile et fin de voir comment l’anachronisme (présence de l’iPhone / iPad) n’est pas du tout dérangeant dans ces toiles très classiques.
