I forgot to mention a new character I’m playing in a shorter game while one of my other games is on a hiatus!

I’m playing a lizardfolk storm herald barbarian/tempest cleric named Aryoth. Her appearance is based off ribbon eels!

Like moray eels, she too has a second set of jaws which she uses to better latch onto her prey and/or her opponents in battle. She’s from a remote island archipelago and hasn’t interacted much with non-lizardfolk until fairly recently so she’s kinda clueless when it comes to a lot of social interactions. Aryoth is very curious and well meaning but tends to explore new surroundings by putting things in her mouth and/or biting.

She’s off exploring the wider world in search of irrefutable proof she can bring back to her village that an ancient sea god her tribe believes to be dead is actually still alive. 

She’s also carrying around a bright red egg she found that she’s very protective of. What creature is inside? Is it friend or food? She has no idea and wants to find out!

last night I got to thinking about how Aryoth learned Common when she’s from a pretty isolated lizardfolk village.

I imagine that her village isn’t the only community that lives out in the Coraltooth Islands. maybe there’s a village of sea elves and/or tritons and/or humans that also live there. her village is on good terms with them and use Common as a trade language. Draconic is definitely her first language, and she wasn’t taught Common until she was about 7 or 8 years old.

thinkin about Aryoth today. so, she likes biting during sex (no surprise there), and she likes to bite hard. she’s got many sharp teeth and likely has a pretty strong bite force so biting down really hard on, say, a human or an elf or any other “soft skinned” partner during sex would probably cause said partner a lot of damage.

she’s used to other lizardfolk with tough scaly hides that could easily handle such a bite. from her perspective, a soft-skinned partner has very fragile skin and she wouldn’t want to hurt them. her biting a soft-skinned partner during sex would probs be her equivalent of like, gentle nibbling.

I also like to imagine such a partner being like “I can handle it!! bite me harder!!” and she’s like “you couldn’t handle it” but they’re insistent she try biting harder. so she obliges and the partner is like “OWWW!! is this your full bite?! damn!” and she tells them that the bite wasn’t even a fraction of her full bite force.

she also likes being bitten during sex too, and she’d probably find a soft-skinned partner’s attempts at biting her back kinda adorable. it would be like a little tickle to her.

one of my favorite things about Aryoth having a moray eel-like second jaw is she can basically do this to intimidate enemies

in tonight’s session Aryoth told the tale of how her grandmother once tamed and rode a great white shark

Aryoth totally now has a shark bite scar on her somewhere from her trying to tame and ride a shark like her grandmother but it didn’t go quite as well

One way Aryoth likes to show appreciation or say thank you to someone is by giving them food. It’s almost always fish (or some other meat). Often very freshly caught, may-or-may-not-still-be-wriggling, fish.

🖊 Ashscale

Ashscale’s sense of touch has been different since she basically died, was revived, and given new armor-skin by The Molten One. Where the armor covers her, her sense of touch is much duller compared to what is was before. The spaces where the armor doesn’t cover her (because it doesn’t 100% cover her) are more sensitive, from a bit ticklish at best, to sometimes painful. Its taken her some time getting used to this new normal.

🖊 Saiph

Saiph dislikes using photon mode and avoids using it when she can. Unlike the default state of her stellar mote and graviton mode, which are both completely silent, her photon mode is loud. It makes sounds similar to the rumbling of thunder. Saiph hates this. The loud sounds aren’t the only reason she dislikes photon mode, but its one of the major reasons she doesn’t like it.

While Aryoth doesn’t actually have a last name, if you pressed her for one she’d say her last name is Coralfang, which is the name of her lizardfolk tribe.
