Yo!
Here's the rambler anon that had sent in a whole ass worship piece of chapter eight ( the one who's dying from excitement with the way you integrate the titles into the 'over the threshold' fic's story)
I've read your reply literally far too many times to even be able to count on one hand and I might have been far too excited at 8am in the morning when I first read it!
I'm really glad that you continue trusting your gut and intertwining the metaphors into the story, simply because they add an extra layer of detail and allow for us to interpret and perhaps even add onto the connections you have already set up. (Something that I love since I'm down for overanalyzing every small detail)
The usage of the word 'counterpart' for Suguru had been accidental at first and I let it be since it fit so well with the title of the chapter as well. It's really intriguing how your mind quickly connected it to music and came up with such a pretty way of describing Suguru and Satoru as complimentary music lines.
Also, since you asked, I personally have no background in music other than being an avid listener. So, you can guess that I'm googling things up left and right to comprehend the definition of each title to see how it'll connect with the chapter itself. So if my interpretation of counterpoint is a bit different to how it's practically used during music production, that may be the reason, as I mostly rely and expand upon the definition given in the summary. (The closest thing to music I've gotten is learning the guitar which I gave up in two months, so we don't click that well)
P.S can I be called cookie anon? (I loved the tag you used far too much)
WELCOME BACK, COOKIE ANON 🍪
Well I'm glad to hear that goes both ways, because I have done the same thing every single time I've received an ask from you! Maybe I said this before, but I think I will have to put together all of the incredible, beautiful analyses I've received from you and a few other readers into a dedicated place one day, because I think they enrich the story — but I'm biased, of course!
If 'counterpart' was accidental, that makes it even better somehow. It makes me feel like those themes are seeping into your reading of the characters which is amazing! I do think counterpoint as a composition technique is more complex than my summary suggests, but it doesn't need any more detail than I provided to be understood in the way I intended — I'd like to think you're evidence of that! I'm definitely not as confident as I sound about it though lol...
Thank you so much for your investment in the fic, it's honestly incredible to hear that you're researching as you go! Hope to see you again sometime soon ♥️
