Why do grades matter so much to me?

I had an A all semester in French, and Madame promised my class she would help bump our grade after finals. I was literally 1% off from getting the grade I need on my final to keep my A, and she gave me a B. I emailed her. Her response?

You have been working hard & I did add in the conversations. The

conversation did raise your final exam grade but unfortunately not

enough. I'm proud of the progress you are making this year. Keep at it for next semester.

Which is complete bullshit because if she had added my 90% podcast, it should have pushed my 84% on the final to at LEAST an 85%, and I would have kept my A.

Fuck that putain.
