#LFW Adventures: Day 2

In a typically English way, let’s start by discussing the weather. London graced us with the perfect sun-filled day for the second day of our London Fashion Week adventures, and we couldn’t be more grateful after the rain soaked day we endured yesterday.

We started the day with a floral bang, heading to Markus Lupfer. We were stunned by the floral scent which hit us as soon as we entered the show. Flowers were stood against the wooden flooring and the models were engulfed between them, as if standing among the perfect Spring meadow. According to the designer, the collection was inspired by the contrasts found in the fertile deserts of Mexico; endless arid landscapes interrupted by list nature evoking thoughts of playful versus moody femininity. This led to a contrasting colour palette of hard blacks against candy colours; taupes, light pinks and cacti patterns. 

Rich florals featured throughout the collection; as did organza mixed with sports luxe along with sequin embellishment. 

One of our favourite collections we’ve seen so far this fashion week, our bets are on bold floral prints, sports luxe fabrics and the contrast of androgyny with femininity being a large focus for SS16.

Next up, we saw the creative presentation of Minki Cheng. This collection mixed the inspiration of expressionist art, showing us geometric prints and bold colours whilst crafting it between contrasting textures and militant utilitarian shapes.

It’s a sure bet that bright and bold colours will be everywhere during SS16!

Finally, we witnessed the creative vision of Omer Asim. A highly minimalist collection set within a dramatic background, this one was sure to make an impact. A sure fire hit with a minimalist lover, we can’t help but admire the dramatic monochrome.

#LFW Adventures: Day 1.

The fash pack have officially landed in London and so starts the adventures of LFW for the SS16 shows. Of course ASAP54 will be running around the streets of London bringing you all the latest fash news, so that you can sit back and enjoy LFW without the drama.

We started with a bang and hit up the Manuel Facchini show. Full of sculptured garments with a sports deluxe edge, we fell in love with the sharp looks and the must-have colour palette. The collection, crafted from simple geometric lines and a mix of fabrics including mesh and scuba, to give a glamorous sports vibe,  ranged from black to white and was overlaid with flashes of orange, fluorescent yellow and raspberry. A Manuel Facchini mini-dress is on our must-have list for Spring Summer 16.

Next up, we ran across London and headed to the Vielma London presentation. A super cool set, we were transported into a retro Vegas gal’s bedroom and witnessed ultimate girl gang goals. Parading around in the collection which consisted of metallic star printed fabrics, super essential dresses and maxi skirts straight out of the 60s; the girls re-created the Vegas party atmosphere that you want an invite to. Must have look? The star printed two-piece.

Finally, we headed over to the Edeline Lee presentation. A super colourful set with an abundance of clean whites and pastel patterns. We wondered around the warehouse set in awe of all the colours and patterns surrounding us. Candy colours are sure to be a huge trend next summer!

It’s been a busy day running around the cobbled streets of Soho, dodging the rain showers and scaling very steep staircases to bring you the latest fash news; but it’s all in a day’s work for an ASAP fashionista. 💅
