It had been a massive pain and nearly a week long process, but he finally managed to set up proximity alarms all along the building Lionheart was housed in. Frankly, he did it more for his own peace of mind rather than to actually protect the building; after Corvus mentioned all the insane stuff that tended to happen in Spirale, he was preparing for the worst.
The security cameras; however, were still being a pain. Without having the ability to hook Anima up, he was forced to go through them manually each time something popped an alarm. Corvus said he’d regain more functions on Anima if he just hung around long enough, but it was making him twitchy.
Crow was at Lionheart late tonight; he was trying to set up an autoscript that would run in the background to scramble their IP address -- or whatever that equivalent was here. He was sipping on a juice box, quietly tapping away at the keys when the proximity alarm on the roof suddenly went off. Crow jerked at the sound -- his juice box sadly fell to the ground and spilled -- and quickly scanned the cameras, only to see the roof camera was shut off.
Son of a-- Okay, he could go check himself. It was probably, like, a bird or something. He grabbed a fresh juice box and cautiously headed towards the stairs that led to the roof. A thought briefly entered his mind that he should probably get a weapon in case something was up there, but then he wasn’t sure there was a point considering he wasn’t the fighting type.
Crow scurried up the steps and popped the small straw into his new juice box. He paused at the door to the roof, but he didn’t hear anything on the other side other than the alarm -- it was probably safe, in that case. He pushed it out without further thought; the moment he stepped outside he had a spear pointed at his throat.
“EEK!” He gripped the box in fear and squirted the juice all down the front of his shirt.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa, h-hey, there’s no need for that! I work here!”
