So I was talking to a friend about a crush and about how she is ok with me being ace, and my friend tried the "maybe you just need to find the right person"... not in a aphobe kind of way but in a worried friend kind of way, still it hurt.
When people ask that I usually let it slide with a "Maybe it is like that since sexuality is fluid, but right now I identify as ace" but that was a close friend and I wasn't taking this shit from her. So, exhasperated I said "Would you tell a gay person they will grow out of it if they find the right person?". She immediately apologized and agreed with me.
Fucking finally. I do not like starting discusions about my sexuality with people I am not close with, but I wasn't having a friend say it to me ever again.
