asgardians
Is there more background in the lore on the fight between Frost giants and Asgardians on earth?
I'm rewatching Thor and Odin is telling this story. Once humans believed they're gods lived somewhere, yadayadayada, but then the frost giants attacked, almost bringing a new ice age, yadayadayada, but they didn't have to fight alone and the Asgardians won the fight and then they left, never going back to earth.
But why did the frost giants attack in the first place? Why did the Asgardians help? Winners tell the story. And I want to know the whole story. Did the frost giants want the territory? Were they really just heartless conquerers? It seemed like that would actually fit the Asgardians more. Especially if we look at Odin with Hela. Sure, the frost giants seemed to be millenia after that. But Odin doesn't seem to really care about Humans at all. He sees them at something beneath him. So why did he help them?
Then there's the fact that tiny baby Loki exists. Laufey, who apparently attacks earth also has a tiny human sized child lying in a temple. We don't even know what he had planned with him. Odin just assumed he was left there to die. But we don't know for sure.
So what made the frost giants attack earth and what made Odin help humans?
With the way Asgardians are I just feel like there's a whole 'it's Odin's fault and the frost giants didn't even care about Humans, also Odin abducted the enemies child' story missing.

It’s funny to think that Loki is known to be a looser.
Not entirely in the way we know the word - but in a sense that he looses more than he wins. And when he does win, he still looses.
So it’s just funny how the only thing he’s truly ever won, was the heart of the goddess of victory.
