With construction of Pinnacle Peaks Elementary School still underway, Carter had to be inventive when compiling a curriculum for his students.

Ashley había terminado su guardia de tarde en el laboratorio y se marchó rápidamente a su casa para darse una ducha y prepararse. Había recibido la noticia de que un nuevo nightclub se inauguraba aquella noche en la ciudad y le perdía la curiosidad, aunque solo fuese por esa noche. Además, según los comentarios que había escuchado en días previos, aprovechando aquella inauguración se celebraría el cumpleaños de una de los miembros del hospital, así que daba por hecho que encontraría personal conocido por allí. 

Optó por un elegante conjunto negro, tras lo que vino el peinado y el maquillaje sobre la marcha y puso rumbo al lugar del evento, tomando de nuevo un taxi para ahorrarse problemas de aparcamiento en plena ciudad. Al llegar al lugar, contempló una inmensa cantidad de globos por todos lados y el nombre de la cumpleañera. Desde luego era imposible entrar y no darse cuenta de que se celebraba un cumpleaños. Mientras sus ojos se detenían en los detalles del lugar, escuchó que alguien la llamaba desde no muy lejos y ella no dudó en saludar con la mano. “Sabía que era cuestión de tiempo que me encontrara con alguien” dijo alegremente.
