Theoretically, the switching POVs in Guarded are supposed to appeal both to people who like the bodyguard romance trope with LI as the bodyguard and those who like it with MC as the bodyguard. In practice though, I feel like they works against each other with one ruining what the other sets up. Like, I personally much prefer Ash's POV. However, how am I supposed to get emotionally invested into their forbidden feelings arc when I already know since chapter freaking 1 that 1) MC has the hots for them and 2) MC is an empty shell of a human being whose only personality trait is being horny for Ash.
